We had just said maybe this is the place to stay in the area since it was clean and convenient. . . then we walked into the restaurant on Sunday morning. The tables and booths were full, so we decided to look somewhere else for...More
We stayed here 2 nights while we visited the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore. The hotel is well-located, clean and comfortable. At least in May, they have made to order breakfasts -- free for the "basics" & modest charges for omelets, etc. The staff was also courteous...More
Room had an outside entrance and faced water. It had a massive bathroom and was clean. The shower should have had more water pressure but had plenty of hot water. The hotel is right off of 2 and occasionally I could hear cars pass by....More

The top blue part of the menu has their $3 selections - free with your room. It is not a serve yourself breakfast - there is a server. My husband and I both ordered 2 eggs with an English muffin. Other items included 1 egg, 1 meat, 1 toast and hash browns; pancakes; cereal; oatmeal etc; beverage was included. Below the blue part of the menu were selections including larger portions and omelettes.
Next door is the Link Family Smokehouse which has a nice menu if you like bbq. My favorite restaurant in the area is Deepwater Grille and Brewery - we never miss a chance to go there when we are in Ashland.
If you want phenomenal casual home made artisan food -breakfast, lunch and dinner - Coco in Washburn is your best bet. Noreen the owner makes all of the breads from scratch and you can take some of their creative sandwiches along in the car while you're sightseeing.
