The setting and location are absolutely perfect for a Buziios visit. The views from the pool area, the lounge, and the sea view bedrooms could not be better, and it is a short walk from Rua das Pedras and from several of the best beaches. The hotel is unusual, full of antique furniture and oddities that have seen better days.... More

View of the sea that you have from pool is breath taking, interior design which have used very old naval stuf is great, breakfast is very good and if you like tranquil atmospheres, definitely you'll love it.

We stayed here for 6 nights and paid R$3900 (£1432) for a junior suite with a sea view - an expensive price, but we booked late and hadn't been away for a while so thought we deserved a treat. The sea view was beautiful, but that's where the good bits about this hotel end. There is no information on anything... More

Stayed at El Cazar in December, and was very disappointed with my experience. The most succinct way to describe the hotel is as follows: out-dated and overpriced. I paid $600 USD for 3 nights, so I was expecting to find a nice hotel with good service. Unfortunately, the Cazar is not worth even half of that amount and was a... More

El Cazar is a nice hotel, very friendly staff and the view is awesome. Make sure that you book a room with seaview. Rooms are okay, kingsize beds are available. the bathroom dates probably from the late seventies and it shows. The red paint on the faucets has aged considerably, there is a bit of mould in the shower and... More

We stayed at this hotel for a few days in March, the weather was not great and it may not have been the best time to visit Buzios. As far as the hotel is concerned, the staff are absolutely great, although most of them do not speak English they really do their best to help. The hotel is furnished in... More

I really liked the place but at R$450 for the room and they charged R$75/person for breakfast, it was way overpriced. I will stay somewhere else next time.

this place is very close to everything, but far from the noises. the view fr our room is the beach, awesome! it is between orla bardot and the fishermen, on rua das pedras. the staff is friendly and accommodating. one day, they ran out of cheese bread (white round bread), they offer for breakfast, so i asked the waiter. he... This is a lovely property but it just does not have what it takes. Water pressure and faucets in the bathroom did not work properly. Hot water was slow to arrive. Breakfast just ordinary and each time I emailed them in advance they would only answer on of several questions. Most no one spoke English or Spanish. Room was quite... More

Awesome spot in Buzios, amazing ocean front and walking distance from rua das pedras. Bedrooms are cozy, clean and very well decorated. Staff is friendly and service is above average. Definitely coming back!

“We selected one of the large suites on the lower floor at the far right end. I believe it is the best there. Just a warning, the pool deck is over your head and do not have your laptop outside in the am, as they wash down the deck and water comes down between the floor boards for the deck. This usually does not happen until about 9:00am though. Not too early, but the room is well worth the small inconvenience...”
