Pretty much all pousadas in Ilha Grande are very basic and very expensive, and this is one more of such case. The place is clean, the bed is alright, but it white sheets and a nicer breakfast could make it better. The most irritating part of our stay was when the receptionist insisted we had to pay 20% extra for... More

Elton on reception is by far this hotels best attraction! He's very friendly on welcome and helped save us money by organising our trip to lopes Mendez beach about two minutes before the boat actually left! We were going to get a water taxi but luckily for us he was on hand. The room itself is quite nice, tv, fridge,... More

Were with a party of 3, from which I am the only one who speaks Portuguese. Except for 1 person, all staff members speak just Portuguese. Rooms were really tiny for 3 grown up mates, and a bit old. In all fairness, when on this beautiful Island you will hardly spend any time indoors. Some key characteristics of the room... More

Our accommodation fell through in ilha grande and this was a very lucky find. The man at reception was very helpful and accomodating. We were charged a slightly cheaper rate than advertised and ended up staying 3 nights. The breakfast was lovely and there was a lovely outside garden to sit in. The room was fine, a little small for... More

We expected a much nicer place according to the reviews on Tripadvisor, however we were quite disappointed. At first the place seems quite nice: the garden is nicely decorated and looks like a nice place to relax with chairs and hammocks. Also, it is in the quieter streets of Abrão, which is quite noisy the closer you getto the water.... More

We booked this hotel for the last three nights of our honeymoon. At first, when you get there, it looks lovely as the garden is very fresh and a very vibrant green. Can't complain about the garden at all. The man behind reception was very friendly. We were very excited by the fact that the hotel had hummingbirds visiting frequently... More

The location is fine and quiet, the inner court garden that all rooms look out on beautiful and every room has 2 outside seats where you can sit and read a book while enjoying the view and the bird sounds. The room is simple but clean, with a good shower. The only issue we really had was that the bed... More

We stayed here for a week in a double room and managed to get a rate of 70BRL. Very good value for money. The location is not beachfront, but it has a lovely garden and is pretty quite at night. You will hardly hear the local club banging music from Thursday to Saturday. Earplugs will help, but not a must... More

You hear lots of negative reviews about pousadas BUT Portal Dos Borbas is a LOVELY place!! Great value $55.00US a night, spotlessly clean, wonderful breakfast open air overlooking the gardens, friendly staff, no English spoken. 5 Minute walk to the village beach!
