Enjoy your stay in Petropolis!
Beautiful and historic pousada, great location close to the sights of Petropolis. The room was very spacious and we loved the varanda. The pool is a lovely place to relax, lots of trees and pretty features. I recommend!
My wife & I were planning a trip to the mountains and selected this property as our first stop of a 5 day trip. We were greeted by Arturo, Ricardo & Marcello who seemed to be enjoying life...all warm smiles and friendliness. They let us view 3 rooms and we decided on the small room #13..in the newer part of the hotel...with a small balcony that overlooked the well groomed pool area...I was impressed that one of the young men were kind enough to carry our luggage (well..my wife's luggage I had one small bag with 5 days of essentials). Again it was a smaller room, very clean and well kept. The bathroom is small...but the shower was great !! The room included a minfridge, few cold beers, refridgerants,. An assortment of snack things. Breakfast was way beyond our expectations ..lot of varieties(the orange cake & chocolate cake) were marvelous..so good we ask the young girl who worked in the kitchen if she could make a couple "to go" when we checked out and kindly obliged us!!! We didn't get her name but thanks from both of us! This Pousada is in a great location...most all the sites you want to take in are for the most part within walking distance...also the main square in the city. Plenty of restaurants and modestly priced. I wouldn't recommend the outdoor patio at the Bohemia Brewery....I would recommend Casa Pellegrini's...😊👍 We came back each day to a well cleaned room with fresh towels. (If you need towels for the pool dial #22 and they will promptly bring you special towels for the pool!!) All in all our experience was a great one and have no reservations recommending this for your stay in Petroplis. Thanks again to the Staff of Posuada Imperial Koeler …
Great place in the center of everything in Petropolis. The rooms are clean and have nice antique details. The staff is friendly, breakfast tasty and they have a lovely patio with pool. Everything is within walking distance. I can absolutely recommend this pousada.
Apart from the location close to the cathedral we were not too impressed. The reception was ok. Maybe we were unlucky but really the room standard is well below of what you would expect of room of more than 400 reais. Any room I stayed in Rio state of this value was far superior. The bathroom was small. The AC noisy. The standard of the breakfast was below anything I have seen for this rate. Really I was disappointed. You will find the same standard for half the price in the Petropolis area.
This pousada is located in the historical area of Petropolis, along a very attractive street. It is within walking distance of the Imperial Palace, the cathedral, the Santos Dumont house, but you will have to take a taxi to get to the Casa Stefan Zweig. The rooms are charming, with air conditioning, and some are on the ground floor. The breakfast is quite adequate and is included in the daily rate. The front desk staff are helpful. We paid about $108 per night
It is a boutique-hotel with atmosphere. Rooms are nice and big and clean. With a noce garden - and the Pool looked clean. Staff is friendly (reception not good at English - but helpful anyway). Internet was pretty bad, but the breakfast was great. Also good parking. Location perfect for sightseeing - big mansions all around, the cathedral, the museum close by. A little much street-noise, though. And rooms not quiet the standard I´d expect.
We were there with our two kids during the low season. We were given a large apartment-like suite with a separate room for the kids, which was great. The location is ideal, everything that is worth visiting in Petropolis is walking distance. The breakfast was good. However, a few things did not make me leave the place fully satisfied. The information about the pousada talks about a historical building. Make no mistake: it is indeed a historical building, a beautiful manor. However inside the pousada, many of the original details have been striped and improvements have not maintained the original taste or style. We had plumbing problems on the first day. The staff provided us a few less than accurate touristic information, and could not answer some other simple questions we had (how far to drive to Rio for example). And on our last day, they came to us asking us to pay for something they said we damaged - which given the place, could have already been damaged. In the end, they agreed on not charging us any extra (they were not asking for a large amount), yet that made us feel it was not a place we would recommend. We felt we should have splurged a few reais more and stay in the real historical hotel down the street.…
This is one of two Monte Imperial Koeller properties in Petropolis owned by the same owner. The two pousadas have a lot in common. Where they differ is this one is in the heart of the historic district; virtually everything you want to see in Petropolis is within walking distance. Whereas the other property is serenely quiet, this has a bit more traffic bustle, and a private grade school next door. The hotel is one-half of one of the mansions on the boulevard. Just walking to- and from the pousada is a journey through history. It is also 1/2-block from the cathedral, and a 10-minute walk from many of Petropolis' best restaurants. It is a GREAT place for a getaway weekend. (book early) I was there for the better part of six months in 2011 on business. It is not so great as a businessman's hotel just because the rooms are small, some of the beds have been shortened, there is neither heat nor air conditioning, and amenities are basic. The staff, however, is as accommodating as possible and are a real highlight of the stay. The breakfast room, located in a separate building behind the pousada an pool, is a very pleasant place with an adequate food selection for the daily wakeup.…
