This is the worst hotel I ever been in. Around 30 people from my company stayed over there for 3 days. There was mold on the walls in multiple rooms, the AC wasn't working properly, the shower was not even warm... in one room the sheets had a red stain. We asked the staff to help us and they were awful, disrespectful and kept saying all rooms were booked and there was nothing they could do. That was a lie, because after we threated to leave the hotel, three rooms magically appeared... but they were not good too. Also, one of the rooms was so bad it stinked because of the mold and after changing the guys from there to another room, this stinking room was given to another people from the company who arrived later. The room cards just stopped to work from time to time; the elevator panel gave the impression we all were going to fall. The hotel is in a good localization, but for this price we could've been in other hotel and take an Uber to our appointments. Also, there is not a single thing to do in the hotel (pool or activities). On one day I went to the beach and when I returned, I just asked "can you give me a card for room XXX" and they gave me without asking further questions... This was the worst hotel experience I ever had in my life and half of our company is now sick and I think it was probably the mold on most rooms.

No way to sleep. You can even hear people clicking on their phones and walking in their Brazilian plastic sandals outside the room. You can hear the elevator ringing on a different floor. Their doors are like made of cardboard. Wifi isn’t working at all. Reception guys were nice, but that doesn’t make a difference when there is no way to get some rest, unbelievable how bad hotels in this city are. Terrible ! Cheap, cheap mattress that will hurt your back. Stay away, take a chain hotel !

I’ve been in worse, but they have not put on a pretence at being better then they are. Location is fine, breakfast is adequate if the same, facilities are tired, the walls in the room are an off white and someone has decided to badly repaint, amateurish. The toilet door was rotting. Bit worse of all the charge for holding your luggage, €6 for a couple of hours before you can access your room, same before your go, but only up until 3 because the door man is away at 15.00. Charming.

We booked this hotel because it said it was a 4 star hotel! This is a 3 star at most! No wonder the price was cheap. The room was so small, walls were dirty, floors weren't the cleanest and some small bugs like silverfish looking ones. No shampoo and conditioner, no iron. Breakfast wasn't the best either. We made due, but if you book this as a 4 star, then I expected 4 star service and cleanliness at least!

We are so disappointed with our stay in this hotel. I really don't know where to begin but let's start with the check in. As we came into the hotel around 10am we were given a few prieces of paper to fill in with our passport details. Of course we did, however they lost the information and during the whole stay they were asking us about the same information even though I offered to give them my passport on a few occasions. Till now, no one knows where the missing papers are despite them containing sensitive personal information. Our room seemed clean but so small with no balcony or any space to hang our wet beach towels and regular towels. We are in Copacabana in a city by the beach after all! We showered and asked for extra towels but they specifically asked us to return the ones we had as it's impossible to have more then one set in the room. Every time we would call reception they won't answer or if they did, the level of English was so poor we barely understood each other. As we couldn't dry our wet beach wear anywhere we asked for additional hangers which we hanged on the wall as there were no hooks anywhere at all. Also we couldn't iron our clothes as there was no movable iron available and only the hotel staff would do it for you, provided they are at work that day. As we are visiting during carnival of course they were off most of the time! The breakfast did not change not even Once for 10 days! Always the same buffet with horrifying taste of the food. And finally, my favorite experience of all. My earrings and my friend's ring went missing! We reported it that same evening to reception and they said we need to wait till the manager Fernando is in on the next day. So we did - we went back in the next day looking for Fernando who supposedly works 8 am to 5 pm. Midday he had already left and wasn't there. They offered us no escalation alternative so upon some serious insisting from us they brought the head of housekeeping to speak to us. Then they asked for 24 hours to investigate. We agreed but 24 hours later there was again no manager on duty to give us an update and once again we had to return to reception the next day. By Friday afternoon (the theft happened on Tuesday) still no update and finally after threatening to call the police they finally came out of hiding and spoke to us - of course not in English! We were at reception and the whole hotel heard us and our complaint because they were not even professional enough to take us to a private room. They said their maid was trust worthy and they believed she wouldn't steal and as such it wasn't their problem that we had jewelery missing. After implying that we were lying they then demanded proof of the cost of the missing items - one of which was a gift and the other was bought over a year ago. But apparently without receipt they couldn't reimburse us. Suddenly they finally agreed to pay us only a portion of the jewelery cost (2/3) and they forced us to sign a paper that the reimbursement was for their internal lack of communication and not for them taking responsibility for the missing items. Horrible experience, incredibly poor customer service and complete lack of professionalism. I will never return again and I regret spending my money somewhere where my experience didn't matter!

I was invited to a wedding, so I visited Rio de Janeiro for the first time in my life. It was very impressive. The hotel Atlântico Travel Copacabana is situated at the Copacabana. Not directly at the beach but about 5 minutes by foot (500m tops). The hotel is a tower building with 18 (?) floors. My room was on the second floor with look at the air-conditioning duct. The room was pretty small with two beds in it (a single and a full-size), a table, a chair, a fridge, a safe, tv, air-conditioning and a bathroom with shower. It is nothing if you want to stay all the day long in your room. The room itself was clean and the maid came every day. The staff at the front desk is very nice, friendly, patient and accommodating. I had the impression, that not everyone speaks English (fluently). I had problems with understanding their Brazilian Portuguese, they had problems with understanding my European Portuguese, but everyone tried and somehow we got along very well. So really there was no problem at all. The dining room is in the basement. It's a bit tight there due to the cramped premises. There is a rich breakfast buffet with fruits (banana, melon, papaya, mango...), cakes, puddings, bread, sausage, cheese, yogurt, scrambled eggs, coffee, tea, water, juice... I liked it here and I think I would come back.

This hotel is in a good location in Copacabana. Close to a very good Smart Fit gym which is great for us because we like to train when on vacation. The breakfast however was not that great, the food wasn't fresh and we had to wait for tables as they didn't have enough tables for the guests, which was disappointing. This hotel is very basic. But it is very clean and fairly priced.

Stayed here for mid December for 3 nights; on second day left early in the morning for breakfast and a tour and returned to the room between 3.30-4pm to discover housekeeping hadn’t done the room yet; items had been moved and on further investigation items were missing, including money, medication, jewellery. In a clean up of the room found Christmas gifts stashed under the bed and mattress obviously for collection after we check out. We called Reception and asked for the Manager and the Police. Manager was on leave until Sunday morning, no one came to our room to speak with us, we received no apology, no compensation, no footage from the cctv camera which was promised, no response to our emails and our Brazilian lawyer is now investigating this on our behalf. Looking at the base of both beds a make shift cubby hole has been created to stash stolen items. Note they opened combination locked luggage, and carefully removed specific items so the thief would not look obvious. Do not stay at this hotel! Apart from the false advertising of location and imagery on website, the very small rooms and dining room that smells horrendous - being robbed makes sure we have no desire to return to Rio!
