We have loved our stay at Casa de Gente! Although we arrived later than planned, we have been welcomed very nicely, Pauline took us to a local concert and gave us lots of useful tipps. Pauline and her colleague are just the perfect hosts! We felt there like home and we regretted we couldn't stay longer! With love from Vienna

We only stayed one night at Casa de Gente but liked it a lot. The owner Pauline is very nice and helpful. She provided us with every imaginable information and made our stay a joy. My kids loved the charming house a lot, especially all the robot art. It is perfectly located in Santa Teresa, clean and you are served...

This is a truly lovely place to stay. The decor is simple but quaint and tasteful, the breakfast is the best we had in the whole of Brasil, Flavia the manager is so incredibly helpful, and the rest of the staff are friendly too. Flavia went above and beyond to help us with anything we needed - she booked tickets...

Lovely little B&B in a house in the hills of the Santa Teresa neighborhood. Caretakers are super nice and help with everything such as maps and tips for eating etc. Lovely breakfast with a few local fares, nice little garden with scenic view and birds. Soon rooms have shared bath with other rooms so make sure you check this while...

Flavia is the best! The hotel is in a good area where you can go outside for drinking staying safe! There is a good common area on the hotel, with some tables and Flavia bought a small swimming pool which was a very good idea!

Flavia and staff are great and very friendly and knowledgeable, and can make you feel welcome in Rio easily. Nice rooms, good view, good wifi and other facilities and great and extensive breakfast. Nicely situated between Santa Teteaa and Lapa. I even had the luck to get upgraded immediately.. Will come back here for sure.

Great location, lovely rooms, and a nice little garden with a stunning view over the city. The best about this B&B is, however, the wonderful staff helping you in any way to make the best out of your stay in Rio. Thank you a lot, Rafael and Laura!

Staying in Santa Teresa

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Teresa
Santa Teresa is a bohemian enclave hosting many local artists’ studios. The narrow, winding streets of this neighbourhood were revitalised years ago, and visitors can now stroll through this area to view magnificent mansions dating back to the late 19th and early 20th century. A highlight not miss: Museu Chacará do Céu, a former mansion turned museum which houses works by prominent Brazilian modern artists.
