I stayed here during carnival this year and for sure I will not return. I know that every hostel increases their prices during carnival so I'm not too concerned with the price. However: • there was no AC just a fan in the 14-bed dorm which didn't help at all. I really struggled to sleep due to how hot it...

Lapa Hostel has a very clean and cozy atmosphere, perfect for travellers. I showed up with no reservation and asked them to get to know the place. Lucas was a great hostess and made me feel confortable there, showing me the rooms, kitchen, bathroom, living room, etc. They are making new additions to the building so It´s probably going to...

I've had a great experience staying at the Lapa Hostel at Rio. The staff were friendly, helpful, and knowledgable about the area. It was nice meeting other travellers in the hostel. The staff and the people staying there made me feel at home. I love their free caparihinas Friday and Saturday nights. It's close to the San Dumont airport, the...

I stayed at this hostel during carnival this year, and while it was ludicrously expensive to be fair everywhere is ludicrous during carnival. The good: The hostel staff are really friendly and quite a party crowd themselves, so they're pretty welcoming to travelers and will take you out partying with them. The location - if you want to be in...

Yes - the breakfast is great...& location is right in the heart of Lapa (as long as you dont mind the late night noise & transvestite prostitutes out the front!).... BUT - after that.... it really is worth finding ANOTHER Hostel in Rio. 1 - The rooms are stinking hot...advertise as "with AC"...but a joke. Wont turn AC on until...

I was here for the first 2 weeks of the World Cup. The location is as good as it gets if you are there to party. Like you walk to the corner, turn left, and go wild. The staff were cool and friendly, invited us to go out with them, and really helpful about things. They also seemed to manage...

We stayed 3 nights in the hostel and it was a OK experience. The room (double) was very small and really really basic. The common areas (like bathrooms) were not very clean. Pretty dirty most time of the day. It would be OK (most of brazil hostels are really basic), but considering price it was absolutely not worth it. You...

Unfortunately when we arrived at lapa hostel they were "overbooked" despite us booking in advance, they advised us that we would be staying in a "sister" hostel down the road. This was definitely the poorer, neglected little sister of lapa hostel as it was very poor in comparison, so poor in fact that we received a refund and stayed elsewhere....

One of the best hostel to stay in Lapa! Great staff and unbeatable animation at the end of the week and (free caipirinha... and kisses) Hostel to build lifetime memories: don't hesitate if you have a chance to stay and visit Lapa.

There are some ok things about the hostel: the location is good, the staff were very friendly and accommodating, the breakfast was good, the communal areas were fine and the cat really was a great welcoming pet. However, I didn't feel safe at all in the hostel. The doors didn't lock and there wasn't any basic security: no lockers for...

“Choose the 4 beds bedroom if available. There are bathrooms right across it and not many people use it because most of them are in the 1st floor using bathrooms upstairs. Not sure about other rooms, but this one has A/C which helped a lot! Take your own locker or buy one when you get there for R$ 10,00 reais,”
