I had a great time in Bossa in Rio! Though the dorm is small, it's clean and so are the bathrooms. The hostel has a great atmosphere, and staff are helpfull and well informed. Breakfast is fantastic, the best I've had during my stay in Brazil. And the location is lovely: Santa Theresa truly is a gem! We were with...

Deserves it's number one rating. Opened less than a year and they do everything right. Located in Santa Teresa minutes from great restaurants in Santa Teresa but just five minutes from Lapa and all it offers with out the noise. Convenient to buses all around town. Beds are great. The custom made bunk beds are so large and comfortable that...

I think my trip to Rio could've easily been a disappointment because it was mostly cloudy and rainy whilst I was there. I was also ill for most of my stay and that didn't help my case. However, Bossa In Rio turned that all around as the staff were so helpful and accommodating. I felt looked after as the staff...

Clean place, Friendly staff, great breakfast! You just need to walk down the hill to reach Lapa and Centro. Going up to the hostel is a good workout though the area going up could be a little scary at first, especially when walking alone at night, I never encountered any problems.

Bossa is an amazing hostel/hotel. Its place as number one hostel on Tripadvisor is well earned and deserved. We stayed in a suite for eight days and cannot recommend this delightful place enough. We have inspected the dorms too for your benefit and found them excellent, clean, quiet and bright. Great and genuine welcome from the friendly and well informed staff. Clean...

Very friendly hostel with amazing breakfast. Stayed in three different rooms there; the suite rooms with balconies were GORGEOUS. Other hostelly rooms were very nice, everything was great. Would definitely go back without hesitation. there are buses from right outside taking you everywhere you need to go locally, so very convenient (and only five minute walk to centre anyway).

We stayed here for about 4 nights and loved it. Lapa is about 10 minutes' walk away and from there you can catch buses to Copacabana, Botanic garden and many other sights. Good workout on the legs too, with all the steps! Further up from the hostel, into Santa Teresa, are some stylish restaurants and bars. Some of the restaurants...

The staff were wonderful and very friendly. The hostel was modern and very clean. They served a great breakfast. Santa Teresa is my favourite part of Rio, the hostel was a little bit out of the heart of Santa but only a short walk and also very close to lapa.

Staying in Santa Teresa

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Teresa
Santa Teresa is a bohemian enclave hosting many local artists’ studios. The narrow, winding streets of this neighbourhood were revitalised years ago, and visitors can now stroll through this area to view magnificent mansions dating back to the late 19th and early 20th century. A highlight not miss: Museu Chacará do Céu, a former mansion turned museum which houses works by prominent Brazilian modern artists.
