Atlantis can be compared with one cheap Hotel that I stay in Russia end of 80th … TERRIBLE old and stinking rooms , listen every noise from the neighbor rooms , fridge and air-condition make noise but not cooling, cheapest quality soap and old towels , no shampoo and that all for 280R$ …. Maximum value for that Hotel is...

My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights in April and really liked it. We stayed in larger room with the private bathroom and it was spacious, clean, and comfy. Inia was a wonderful hostess and was so helpful when it came to planning our sightseeing, deciding where to go for dinner, etc. We LOVED her breakfasts each morning...

I stayed in Rio with my boyfriend during July 2010. We were both running the Rio Marathon, and stayed in a hostel prior to our arrival at Arpoador B&B. What an amazing relief! This B&B is actually in a condo building, where Inia (the owner) is your hostess. She has a cozy and beautiful condo, and really makes you feel...

A really amazing experience. This B&B is homely, comfortable and has a great location. Inia, our hostess, was very helpful, warm and made us feel totally at home. She gave us a large and tasty breakfast every morning and helped us with restaurant recommendations, touring tips and went out of her way to make our stay memorable. On the day...

How this is 19th in Rio I dont know, perhaps only if you look at the price. The place is nothing special. I stayed there with a friend for New Years and paid loads for the privilege, but all hotels in Rio see New Year as a cash cow, so nothing you can do about that. The Room was an...

We want to echo the complements of recent and past reviewers. We stayed here for a week, occupying both rooms (one for my husband and myself, and the twin room for our teenager). The location is absolutely superb. If you want to skip the hotel experience, and feel what its like to be among the those Cariocas who live in...

I originally booked this hotel for its relatively low price in a great neighborhood - between Ipanema and Copacabana. There were 3 people in my group and this hotel had triple beds - 3 single beds in a room - which was great. The neighborhood around the hotel was perfectly safe and well lit; we walked around at 3am without...

This bed and breakfast is in a great location. Easy walking distance to Ipanema (3 mins) and Copacabana beach (3mins). There are two rooms to choose from, a twin room with a bathroom across the corridor (this bathroom does not have a bath) and a double room with an en-suite. The twin room offers two beds but is restricted on...

I would recommend this hotel and would go there again. Few little details aside, I dont't think you could do much better in Rio in this price range. Location is quite good, you have to walk a couple of blocks to get to the beach or the main streets of Copacabana or Ipanema. The room was spacious enough, but I...

Staying in Copacabana

Neighbourhood Profile
Copacabana
The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood is a blend of Brazilian soul - crowded, rowdy and traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs, chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and more live side-by-side. There are options for all price points and tastes. However, the most powerful draw in Copacabana is still the fantastic view of the coast and the incredible beaches.
