Nothing to complain about but nothing special either. We requested a double bed and got two singles. We even asked as we checked in and still got two singles. Annoying. Perfectly fine. Location is fine. Walking distance to grocery store. I stayed at another hotel afterwards with a much better location at the other end of Copacabana beach.

It is a great 4 star hotel and his location is very good. Between Ipanema and Copacabana beach giving you a choice to walk to both beaches. I stayed at the deluxe room wit plenty space, large bathrooms, great employees. They always up to help. From the bar to reception, room cleaner, door man and the ones that help with... More

The South American Copacabana Hotel is located between copacabana and ipanema. This location is perfect to reach both neighbours in few minutes. The rooms where clean and comfortable. I had only a problem (no more my fleflop in the room) that was solved by the receptionist before my departure. They bought me another pair. Big and healthy breakfast

For a 4star hotel, service and breakfast and room were average. consider $110 (by third part agent offering of cause, it's like 35% off ) cost it's not bad. Few minutes walk way to Copacabana Beach which is great.

We were there for the very beginning of the Olympics and did not notice a price hike as mentioned. While not high luxury, we found the hotel to be very nice and everything we needed. Staff friendly enough, attentive and breakfast included in the mornings. Location is great -- right between Ipanema and Copacabana. Very nice views on the roof.... More

We used to stay in a five-star hotel located on Avenida Atlântica em Copacabana... But got sick of that bad attitude, too much security scrutiny, and too many tourists in a very fake location. We are now very be at the South American Copacabana hotel where we have stayed five times and brought groups of friends as well. Excellent rates,... More

I have been to Rio for work and leisure several times in the last years - but this time was the best experience I had so far. The hotel is well located in Copacabana, rooms are ok (simple but very clean) and service was outstanding: friendly staff, excellent food, prompt assistance to my requests. Plus, front desk staff speak fair... More

I stayed here over Easter for a week. I was unsure what to expect but was not disappointed. The hotel is in a great location, a 2 minute walk from the main Copacabana beach. Perfect for what we wanted. The hotel was spotless and there are always staff around to assist. The reception staff were friendly and always ready to... More

Stayed at the hotel for a few days during semana santa. The room was very nice and clean, a bit crowded for 3 people, but it was ok. The only thing I do have to say is that there were not enough places to hang things in the bathroom. Amazing location, right between copacabana and ipanema. The fron dask staff... More

Staying in Copacabana

Neighbourhood Profile
Copacabana
The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood is a blend of Brazilian soul - crowded, rowdy and traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs, chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and more live side-by-side. There are options for all price points and tastes. However, the most powerful draw in Copacabana is still the fantastic view of the coast and the incredible beaches.
