This is a big hotel with large rooms, our was a 70s style - not sure whether all the rooms are in this style - but I didn't mind it at all. With a very large bedroom and a large bathroom I welcomed its 70s...More
Spent eight nights after new-year in Rio and stayed at this hotel. Overall we were underwhelmed by this hotel. We say “underwhelmed” instead of “disappointed” or “unhappy” as we do have some appreciation of the price range and quality of hotels in Rio in general,...More
This was an excellent hotel just 400 metres from copacobana, and 800 metres from iponema.
Well located on a principal bus route it's a sort ride from sugar loaf, or from the lagoon.
Excellent breakfasts, with plenty of juices and excellent fresh fruit.
The hotel is greatly located you can reach by foot both the Ipanema beach and Copacabana beach. The rest is like a regular hotel, the only thing I would point out is the good and complete breakfast, it always includes fresh fruit and hot dishes...More

South American Copacabana Hotel Rio De Janeiro, Brazil
The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood is a blend of Brazilian soul - crowded, rowdy and traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs, chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and more live side-by-side. There are options for all price points and tastes. However, the most powerful
draw in Copacabana is still the fantastic view of the coast and the incredible beaches.

I believe that there is on the side parking for hotel guests. Having visited Rio some 40 or 50 times, I feel compelled to likewise tell you that it's not exactly the city you want to drive in. Public transportation is excellent including Uber. You can walk from Copacabana to Ipanema in minutes. Parking is never easy anywhere in Rio. Driving patterns are completely different in Brazil....
The question I really ask is: why rent a car in Rio???? Are you imagining that Rio is like an American city just in South America and signed in Portuguese?
