Staff were great and friendly during our stay. The beds were small and the windows had no view - just of the building across from us. The air conditioning was great, the breakfast was a good spread and overall it was quiet and safe.

I visited here in August during the Rio Olympics 2016, both before it got busy, during and after the games. I stayed with my wife and teenage son and got to know the place really well. The rooms are the down side, very basic and not enough room to stay more than a few days. Wardrobes are very small, and... More

We stayed here for the Olympics and spent an astronomical amount of money for our stay... but hey, that's what we signed up for. Based on the reviews, I was expecting it to be pretty mediocre and possibly bad, but it really wasn't. The room was fine, breakfast was okay, and the staff was very attentive. The location was also... More

We stayed at this property for over 3 weeks while in Rio for the Olympics. It is located about a 8 minute walk from Copacabana Beach, and about 10 minutes from the Metro. The hotel includes breakfast, which had good variety including lots for fresh fruit, and wifi, however it was not very fast. The staff were very nice and... More

Included breakfast nicely done, expansive variety, and well stocked. Quality food. My room on 1st floor-funky smell from drain in bathrm floor and from window A/C unit. Sliding glass balcony door (external to main st. Santa Clara) did not lock.

Starting on a positive note, most employees are very nice although they don't speak English, they are ready to help However, sheets were not regularly changed although the rooms were cleaned everyday. Even though the hotel is not far from the beach the location is not ideal as it is very noisy at night, the windows are not double glazed.... More

Second time staying at this hotel. Love the staff. Breakfast included. No microwave in room but staff will heat up your food if you ask. Refrigerator in room. They were doing improvements/renovations while I was there. Probably getting ready for the olympics. My bed was terrible though. Super hard! Had a quiet room not facing the street but my view... Do not stay here. My wife and I had booked this hotel for the 4 days we were staying in Rio. We were on an early flight and emailed ahead of time to see if it was possible for an early check in. A staff member replied that it was dependant on availability, which was fair. We went on Expedia... More

This hotel is located in a great area. Very close to Copacabana beach and within walking distance of Ipanema. The cleanliness of the hotel is okay at best. The main issue we found was the water pressure in the showers. Maybe this affected us more because we hike a lot and looked forward to a shower at the end of... More

Only three blocks from Copacabana Beach. Hotel overall is mediocre. Could do with more detailed room maintenance, however is fairly clean. Rooms have window units for A/C. Breakfast buffet has good selections and is well prepared. Service was very good and friendly. Taxi fares from hotel to the following destinations were: Sugar Loaf RS 35 Botanical Gardens: 45, Christ the... More

Staying in Copacabana

Neighbourhood Profile
Copacabana
The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood is a blend of Brazilian soul - crowded, rowdy and traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs, chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and more live side-by-side. There are options for all price points and tastes. However, the most powerful draw in Copacabana is still the fantastic view of the coast and the incredible beaches.
