Well situated hotel 2 blocks back from the beach, great pool on the roof, with views to the beach. All the staff really helpful. The breakfast is a good introduction to the reluctant Englishman. The rooms are comfortable and well appointed.

Spent a long weekend in Rio with my wife and 2 kids. Most of the hotels in Rio (Copacabana nor Ipanema) does not allowed 2 crianças (kids in portuguese) in the same room; that's why I decided to choose this hotel. We arrived early in the morning, 4 hrs prior to the check in time, but the staff was friendly...

The Royal Rio is well located in Copa - near the beach and a block from a metro stop. The staff is helpful and friendly (thanks Vinny!) but the place does feel a little dated. The rooms are spacious and incredibly clean, but they feel a little barren and worn out. The pool on the roof is really small, though...

We booked this hotel through a travel agent. First day we were put up in a double room where we could not our suitcases without some innovation(chair attached to plank from wall. If we open the bathroom door, I cant open the cup board door. Sound throughout the night from outside? where from. Luckily they have shifted us to a...

we stayed here for a week and had a nice time exploring copacabana and Ipanema area by feet. bars, restaurants and some nightclubs are in the neighborhood. Breakfast buffet is great for fruit lovers!! Hotel generally seems outdated and needs some fundamental facelifting. Fitness area (nice view!) is from the 80's, Wifi is slow and not always accessible, aircondirioning reminds...

It was difficult to book a hotel for my wife and my two kids, but this hotel met what I was looking for, big double beds and space for them to play. The breakfast is very good with lot of options to choose and very good fruits. I need some hot water and honey for a medicine, called the reception...

Overall, I liked this hotel. Location was decent enough, though at the quieter end of Copacabana. Breakfast was a great plus and was included in the room rate. Cleaning was reliable and done to a good standard. Beds comfortable and clean. We also had a good view from our (17th floor) room. On the other hand, there were a few...

I tried to book a room at this hotel for August 2016, that is during the Olympic games in Rio. My travel agent first received a quotation from the hotel for a triple room, which I accepted. When my agent went back to the hotel, they withdrew the offer claiming that there was no availability. I then contacted the hotel...

Staying in Copacabana

Neighbourhood Profile
Copacabana
The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood is a blend of Brazilian soul - crowded, rowdy and traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs, chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and more live side-by-side. There are options for all price points and tastes. However, the most powerful draw in Copacabana is still the fantastic view of the coast and the incredible beaches.
