if you are looking for an affordable family run hotel in Copacobana which is reasonably priced, than Santa Clara is an excellenent choice. The hotel is 6 blocks away from Copacabana beach and is situated in a very safe, quiet neighbourhood. It is very easy and safe to walk around the hotel during day and night. The rooms in the...

Arrived late at night into Rio and was welcomed by a very friendly guy at the desk who also spoke good English. Breakfast was included and served to our room. Good breakfast with fresh fruit. The room was good, although our smelled a bit stale. Stayed only one night before moving on down the coast. All in all a friendly...

I stayed in this hotel with 3 friends, after staying at a filthy hostel we wanted 2 nights somewhere much better and this hotel was that. The staff, especially Paulo were very helpful. Our room was a decent size with air con, we paid £125 each for 2 nights during Carnival season, so not too expensive. We were offered tours...

I thought this place was too expensive for what was offered, everything was very basic, the rooms were so old fashioned and the blue decor does not add any nice touch it just makes you feel like your in a hostel or convent. I paid £75per night but was happy i only stayed for 2nights, i do wish i paid...

We stayed at the Hotel Santa Clara in the Copacabana beach area of Rio de Janiero from Sept 3rd to 10th,2012. This is a boutique type hotel in a quiet neighbourhood. The rooms are dated, but maid service was great and the rooms were kept very clean. The room was quite roomy with a double, desk with chair, table with two chairs, bathroom with large shower,...

We stayed there during Carnival 2012 and it was overpriced just like all other Rio hotels at that time. The room was okay, and the employees were helpful and nice. Breakfast is simple and delivered every morning to the room. The location is not so bad, 15 minutes walk to Copacabana beach and the area is safe. It is also...

We ended up without reservation and fortunately there was still room. Although quite a walk from the beach, this hotel in Copacabana lies in a very quiet family neighbourhood. The room was spacious and clean, the hotel staff friendly and helpful. After having checked out several hotels in the area, this was by far the best value for money (although...

I checked into the hotel santa clara yesterday and was greeted very kindly by the reception of the hotel. He offered us many tour options while we were settling the payment. Our room was on the first floor but very clean and cute. The bathroom is small but clean and shower pressure was amazing. We have a working air conditioner...

The hotel is well located and perfect if you are in Rio for business and don't want to keep seeing the same suits of your co-conference visitors everyday. As an extra the hotel makes it possible to personalize your wake up calls and the sound of that voice in the morning just gives you back the joy and energy you...

Staying in Copacabana

Neighbourhood Profile
Copacabana
The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood is a blend of Brazilian soul - crowded, rowdy and traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs, chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and more live side-by-side. There are options for all price points and tastes. However, the most powerful draw in Copacabana is still the fantastic view of the coast and the incredible beaches.
