I was glad when I got knowledge that I was going to stay on a Ibis in Rio de Janeiro. This way I could expect a pattern service, no surprises and a safe place. Regarding the Rio de Janeiro downtown , these characteristics make a hotel like Ibis a special place. LOCATION: Located in Rio de Janeiro downtown, it's close...

A good hotel is one that the client can contact to solve minor problems. Ibis hotel even allows customers to correct scheduling errors of dates of stay. I had damage to it and do not intend never to stay in Accor hotels.

Being an Accor Platinum Member believe me I know their brands very well. Ibis even in Australia or Europe will give you teamaker, freezer, big screen tv and quiet rooms. Not so this pitiful excuse of an ibis. Nobody care to work or to smile at the reception desk (not my problem when you hate your job, stay at home!!!),...

Reception quickly checked me in. Her English wasn't very good but was able to communicate the basics. Room was large, clean and simple (the usual Ibis design and standard). I wasn't able to try the breakfast, so can't comment. No laundry service on Sundays.

If you need a place to sleep, this is the right spot. It's affordable and "ok" to stay. Is in Rio's downtown, that is not a safe place to walk at night, but you can always catch a cab. The room bathroom has only a shower and the vanity products are not the best. It is a economy hotel, so...

Delivers what is expected from Ibis worldwide - comfortable, modern, clean, with food and beverage available 24/7. Wifi could be faster though. One thing seriously concerned me though - I lost my key card a couple of times and the Reception replaced it without asking for my ID. That's the kind of negligence that is not easy to overlook

I booked this hotel for my stay during the Rio de Janeiro 2016 Olympic Summer Games. I found the price was expensive for what this hotel actually offers, but also understanding this is peak travel season with a worldwide event going on. It was an easy walk to/from the Carioca Metro Station. Checkin was good and the room was okay....

Just to emphasize...this is not a luxury hotel but really a value budget hotel. So everything from decoration to amenities is very basic and minimal. If u need to be pampered, this is really not the place. But if u want just a clean room with all basic requirements, this is a great option. First, price is very good in...

I stayed at Ibis Rio de Janeiro Centro during the Olympics Games. It´s a good hotel, near from the Carioca´s subway (around 4 blocks away), although it was a little bit scary during at night that we took a taxi to get back to the hotel. The hotel is reasonable!

Staying in Centro

Neighbourhood Profile
Centro
Downtown Rio is the place where this city was born. With modern skyscrapers sharing space with historical buildings and landmarks, this neighbourhood is living proof that the old and the new can live together harmoniously. As you would expect, downtown is where all major companies house their offices. However, the region isn’t restricted to businesses. Gems such like the “Paço Imperial,” which is a cultural centre that used to serve as a residence for governors of Brazil, can be found here. Pedra do Sal, a Monday night street party, is also in this neighbourhood. This landmark is the birthplace of samba and is famous for its “roda de sambas” (“dance circles”). Stop in for one and get closer to discovering where Brazilian happiness comes from.
