The rooms were a bit outdated but really liked the balcony and people watching, colorful part of the city. Praca de Republica is right next door, they have a market on the weekends, good shopping. Staff was attentive and friendly but didn't speak English. Great location for me, everything you need in walking distance. No issue here at all.

Do not bother with this hotel! When I arrived the wifi was broken and was not fixed. The door handle on my room was broken. The balcony door would not close. The bedroom light bulbs did not exist and the room phone did not work. The room was old and smelt very damp. The bed sheet was ripped. I checked...

Very old hotel in a lively but not always safe neighbourhood of Sao Paulo. The staff is really very friendly, but this does not offset the rest. Everything is old and it's not even possible to close the window (not for a specific problem: it's simply conceived in a way that it is always only near to the wall and...

superb location for an economy hotel! steps away from metro, cheap rates, just steps away from the shady areas, quite safe day and night. Rooms are aged but clean and spacious. There are many restaurants close by. Not for posh travelers, but this is a great place to stay on a budget!

The price was okay but the room was very old dated like if you walk into a room in the 60's. The breakfast was poor and the people don't speak any English. The first night we stepped oud of our hotel we didn't feel safe at all. If you wanna stay in a hotel which is not really expensive you...

I stayed at this hotel in June 2014. Rooms were small so beware but overall it was clean and hotel had a lift. Breakfast was good.Location excellent - near the subway. In addition, staff don't speak English so have a google translator handy. Have to say, hotel was good and staff tried where possible to provide assistance.

The Republica Park Hotel is run by non English speaking staff. Special event pricing is crazy, normal rates may be acceptable. The reception areas are finished in pleasant granite stonework. Bedrooms are downbeat, drab walls, metal shutters on the balcony doors and mattress with crushed springs. Excellent view of the Sodapop bar across the road. Don't expect much sleep before...

The location of the hotel is great. The airport bus stops just 50m away from the hotel. The metro is close by as the edifico italia , which is the tallest building you can visit with a bar on the top floor and stunning views. The hotel itsself is ok. The staff is very friendly, breakfast nothing special but ok....

The "aerobus" from the airport drop you just 100 m away from this hotel, very easy to find. The young guy at the reception speaks a good english at 21h30. Room was clean, large, with tv set, noisy airconditionning. On a Friday night this area is noisy because a lot of young peoples below you in a café on the...

Staying in Republica

Neighbourhood Profile
Republica
Part of the historical centre of São Paulo, República was once a fancy residential area. República Square holds a craft and food fair every weekend, right by the subway entrance. Nearby, one of the neighbourhood’s main attractions is the Italian Building, where you can see the city from the 42nd floor. The Copan Building also deserves a close look, with 1,160 apartments and a huge floor area that inspired filmmakers and other artists. To get the feeling of São Paulo in the beginning of the 1900s, visit the Municipal Theatre – you will be amazed by its architecture. The area also features several galleries. República is a great area to explore during daytime, but use caution if visiting alone at night.
