While the neighborhood might not be the best part of the hotel (not by a long shot), Cinelândia hotel itself is very good, with helpful, accommodating staff, clean dependencies and rooms, and a hearty, satisfying breakfast. Plus, being located only a couple blocks away from the Republica metro station, I think it's more than worth it.

This hotel is in a seedy part of the city but if you get a taxi directly there and walk inside there is no problem whatsoever. The hotel is a basic style hotel but the rooms are clean and the bed was comfortable. I recall that there was quite a bit of noise at night. Apparently there is a disco... More

I visited in June during the world cup. My taxi dropped us off at night, and the front of the hotel resembled Skid Row in Los Angeles. Once we got inside, everything was clean, and service was fine checking in.The elevator broke down a few times during our stay, which made being on the 7th floor lame. Street noise was... More

I stayed in this hotel in July 2014 during World Cup Soccer. I liked the location of very much -- everything is within walking distance. The bus stands and train stations are very close. Also it is very close to the popular market place on De Marco Avenue. It provides free wi-fi access which is very useful.

The hotel is in downtown Sao paulo, in a place where is not recommended to go out at night. Not a lot of places to eat around the hotel. The rooms are basic, clean rooms. The staff is kind but most of the staff dont speak english (we communicted with google translate).

Coming from Australia with no portugese skills, gritty downtown Sao Paulo is a little confronting. The staff at Cinelandia are very willing and helpful even with a language barrier. The hotel is basic but this is reflected in the price.

This hotel is basic, but clean and ok. The location is in a more gritty part of Sao Paulo very central for a lot of sights. Also very close to the very good Sao Paulo metro system. Taxis are always available across the road as well. We stayed over the weekend. Friday and Saturday were great - lots of people... More

My husband and I stayed with my sister for two nights. The rooms are very small, which doesn't bother us and if you prefer a larger room book a twin room. My sister had one of these and there is more room for luggage. I'm a light sleeper and did not have any trouble sleeping here. There was some street... More

Great things about this hotel are the price and the location. I do not have anything bad to say about the hotel because you get what you pay for, and this is not a 5 star hotel. So in that sense I cannot say something bad when I did not pay a 5 start price. I got what I paid... More

“These two points will help your stay a Cinelandia Hotel 1. Take a map of the city with you that shows the hotel location. Two times taking the taxi back to the hotel, the drivers could not find the hotel. Drivers that had a GPS, did not have a problem finding the hotel. So when taking a taxi back to the hotel, either take a map with you, or get a taxi that has a GPS. 2. Ask for a room that does not face the street as they can be quite noisy at night.”
