I worked at Girassol Hostel for three weeks. It`s a lovely small backpackers friendly hostel. Be sure to be received here as a friend! Staff and guest mix up well. I met amazing people here (guests and staff) who became close friends. I would definitely recommand for any travelers who want to share or exchange experiences with fellow travelers. The...

Nice and cosy hostel located in Vila Madalena, 10 minutes from the Metro station, in a safe artistic neighborhood of Sao Paulo. The hostel has a familiar atmosphere, it´s easy to meet other people and enjoy a nght out. I really enjoyed my time spent here. During the winter nights could be cold. I recommend this hostel especially for backpackers...

The bathrooms were ALWAYS flooded. There were only two days in the week were someone went to clean the facility. The toilet spent a whole night and morning clogged up. When I arrived, at 8h of the morning, there was NO ONE of the staff of the hostel to make my check-in. I had to call the hotline of the...

Our stay here was a mix of good and bad. Having arrived in torrential rain in the morning, we were stood around in the communal area for more than an hour before a member of staff appeared! We weren't on the booking system, despite booking in advance and although this didn't affect our reservation in the end it was not...

Girassol hostel is really awesome. The staff is friendly and helpful, it's close to metro and supermarket, in a safe and cool neighbourhood. The ambience is very comfy, there is a kitchen for the guests, a terrace and free wifi. Oh and i forgot to mention the awesome graffiti. Need I say more?

We were two weeks on a vacation trip in Brazil und unfortunatly chose this hostel for our last night. The hostel smells badly due to the unwashed plates that are standing around. Our room and especially the upstairs bathroom were really dirty (and small). The double bed is really old and uncomfortable. For the same price you get in RJ...

I stayed at Girassol for two weeks, and thad the hardest time packing up to leave! Its nice and small with a very homely feel. The manager is very friendly, as well as the staff and he is more often then not in the kitchen whipping up something great for everyone to try! It is right in the middle of...

Charming hostel, offers good services such as loundry, airport transfers, free wifi, coffee, computers and breaksfast. Great location, easy access to the metro (Villa Madalena) and the neighbourhood has a very jouyful-bohemian nightlife. Besides a 24h really helpfull english-speaking staff. definitely my pick in Sao Paulo!

Staying in Pinheiros

Neighbourhood Profile
Pinheiros
Exploring Pinheiros, a neighbourhood known for cozy restaurants and cafes, you will notice a youthful energy. Several cultural centres and institutes surround the area and even its main church, Calvário, hosts a traditional Brazilian “Festa Junina” - a celebration with traditional music, dance, and food during the months of June and July. On the weekends, residents gather at Benedito Calixto Square, a loud and crowded area where people enjoy live music drinks alongside the antiquities fair.
