We arrived in Keng Tung in a total downpour unusual for Jan. We stayed in the Private Hotel and found it to have basic comfort. The staff working at the hotel were very nice and very helpful. Breakfast was basic and the service was good. There are a couple nice places to eat within walking distance. Also a couple small...

We arrived in Kyaing Tong excited to see this part of Myanmar that has opened fairly recently. The Private Hotel has seen better times. it was cold and dark. the staff was helpful but limited English. One of the main attractions of Kyaing Tong is hilltribe trekking. The Private Hotel books tours to do this. Unfortunately the owner has been...

We phoned the hotel and asked about the mosquitoes and poor beds that were mentioned in earlier reviews but the owner assured us this will not be a problem as the beds are new. Anyway when spent 4 nights there and had no problem with mosquitoes (the cleaners sprayed each room after they finished cleaning and we brought electric mosquitoe...

There were swarms of mosquitoes in our room, and the bathroom, just as described in another review, was smelly. The rooms were freezing in the evening (no heat) and I laughed when I read the brochure which called this a resort. It's a run down, fly-by-night hotel. Mandalay Tours substituted this place at the last minute just as was mentioned...

If you crave swarms of mosquitoes (no bed nets), dirty smelly bathrooms, hard lumpy beds, freezing winter nights (no heat), cold cooked breakfasts, then you will LOVE this hotel which ironically calls itself "a resort". Be careful as Mandalay Tours substitutes this place at the last minute instead of the better hotels they advertize. Many amenities this hotel advertises are...

I have to bear in mind when writing this review that I have only ever stayed in 2 hotels in Myanmar, standards are not the same as you might expect in other more developed countries. People complain about electricity, but the this town does not have proper electric and they have to run generators which they only do at certain...

We realised ahead of time that this hotel would not be the highlight of our trip, but overall it was worse than expected - very run down and lacking in any sort of charm or pro-active customer service. Had to ask for hot water to be turned on and for toilet tissue and mosquito coil to be provided. Aircon available...

Friendly staff but very run down from a low starting point. Had to ask before the electricity was turned on. Had to ask before the hot water worked (it was hot). Airc-onditionong did work but again only when the owner decided to turn it on. Just feels very run down and not particularly clean. Mosquitoes in evidence - the only...

Located out of town can be unonvenient on one hand, - on the other hand you might like to pull up your feet and enjoy the peace and quiet at the terracce outside your cabin after a day of trekking to hilltribe villages. Standard is basic, especailly as regards the bathroom. Had hot water though. Beds a bit hard. Anyway...
