As the guidebooks say, this place is all about French colonial charm. Lovely ambience, superb buildings, intimate, really helpful and friendly staff. You could spend a week just by the pool, but you can easily get to wherever you want to go in Battambang from here. So much better than glitzy hotels. Food's great too - both Asian and European...

La VIlla in Battambang Cambodia is a magnificent boutique hotel with only six rooms. The staff are lovely and very welcoming and the General Manager, a lovely French lady has a wonderful philosophy of giving new staff the opportunity to learn new skills. The rooms are lovely and spacious and the restaurant has magnificent meals. This is a five star...

We really loved this place. Despite being flanked by larger more modern buildings, it retains an intimate atmosphere. Our room was great and right by the pool. All the staff were friendly and helpful and seemed like a family, unlike some less personal hotels we stayed in during our trip. We loved the genuine vintage and antique fittings and decor...

We spent a night in La Villa and thoroughly enjoyed it. I was not 100% as I had managed to acquire a stomach bug so I was upset not to be able to take fulll advantage of the food. However my husband enjoyed himself I loved the coconut smoothies! We had one of the attic rooms which was lovely, clean...

This lovely old Villa is more pleasant to stay in than big hotels. Personal service is valued. We ate at the restaurant for 2 nights and found the food and service to be very good. Our room aircon could not handle the heat at this time of year so we were very appreciative of an upgrade to a nicer and...

A 1930 French Colonial villa, if this place were managed properly it would be terrific. The staff try to be pleasant but there is a general sense of unease here, an odd energy. Perhaps it has something to do with the manager yelling at her staff. We arrived late by taxi from Siem. The restaurant kindly stayed opened for us-one...

Dear Brett,  I can understand the fact that your departure from the Villa made you in angry, but that does not excuse your unfair remarks. First of all, here, in this establishment, nobody yells at the staff, and myself less than whoever. We all respect each other. Then, yes, it should be known that an American dollar note, even little damaged, is refused everywhere here in Cambodia, because the banks take a tax to exchange them.  Then more, our bank indeed accepts only the VISA cards, which is displayed twice in our reception. And on your Booking.com reservation, it was noted, on the bottom of the page. It is written, exactly :"This hotel accepts the "following forms of payment : Visa. Another thing: if there was a leaking in your...

It's been pretty much covered by the previous positive reviews. A lovely building, large, comfortable rooms, beautiful garden and great food. My only quibble was the bathroom which was quite small (I was in the attic room). Also the building is not well soundproofed and Cambodia can get quite noisy, especially if there are any funerals or weddings in the...

Enjoyed our stay in this grand mansion, our room was huge and full of yesteryear charm. Everyone on staff was friendly and we were efficiently assisted with the planning of our activities while in Battambang. Good location, within 10mn walk of the 'centre', nice pool and generous breakfast. Recommended

You will feel quite fortunate to be able to make a reservation in this small 7 room deco hotel. One of the few remaining and refurbished homes built around 1935. Each room is unique. The staff makes your stay even more wonderful. Small pool and garden and popular dining spot with local and French foods. Breakfast was lovely in the...

La Villa, in Battambang, is a small boutique hotel located across from the river. The room was large and very romantic, with mosquito netting hanging from the ceiling around the bed. There were two comfy chairs in the room for reading, and the AC worked (which was desperately needed!). The room was located to the back of the hotel overlooking...
