When we arrived at San Pedro's bus terminal we were picked up by a lady from Puripica Hostel who offered us to pay 7000 pesos per night for a double room with shared bathroom. No breakfast included. As she told us in the town center it would be much more expensive, we accepted her offer. Later we found out that... More

We emailed days before, advising of our arrival time. We arrived to the hotel at around 12.30pm. The hotel was deserted, we tried calling the phone numbers on the gate and a lady who only spoke Spanish answered and was advising us room 3 was ours... We entered room three (key was in the door) to find that it had... More

Two days before arriving we had no choice but booking this hostel since San Pedro was very crowded by local and international tourists. Our room was the hostel office just added with some beds: Located in an "outskirt" of San Pedro. One bathroom. No breakfast (at least we weren't asked if we want some), only Spanish speaking people. And it... More

We booked a private room over a booking website and paid 15% of the total amount for 4 nights in advance by credit card. On arrival we were told that there is no room available, they are fully (over)booked. We were moved to a hostel about 2 minutes away (Hostal Candelaria). The owner was very friendly and gave us a... It is located a little way out of town (5 minutes walk), but if I had been a single female I wouldn't have liked the walk at night as the lighting wasn't good. When we were there it was quiet, no party hostal anywhere near it nor noisy neighbours or barking dogs which was good. There is noone at reception... More

We had booked 3 nights there and had already prepayed 10 percent of the amount. When we got there we were told that it was a mistake and we could only stay for 1 night but she would help us find a new place. We reserved 2 nights at the other place but when we got home that night the... More

I read some great reviews about this hostal and they made me pick PuriPica. As the dormroom was a complete mess due to the two people staying in there, we got a free upgrade to a double room. So a pleasant start of our stay. It was off-season and therefore quiet in the hostal. At night though we got a... More

We liked it here. We asked for a room with private bathroom. The room was nice and clean. The first day there was not hot water what we reported right the way and it was fixed alter 5 minutes. The hostel is also very quiet and is about 10 minutes walk from the main square. If you have a private... More

The hostel is a 15 minutes walk outside city center, but still central. During the night the way may be a bit dark though with a flashlight there is no problem, not even for women traveling alone. The room was clean and cleaned up every day. We got towels and when the hot water failed they solved the problem within... More

In San Pedro de Atacama all the houses look the same. All constructions are made from the same material...a sort of mud brick. Hostal Puripica is very well located, 5 minutes from the center, and it has an amazing landscape on site. A huge volcano mountain can be seen from the window. The place is very clean, the people are... More
