A beautiful little hotel situated just a few steps from San Pedro's main road. Rooms at the Hotel Kimal are well appointed and afforded a good night's sleep. The bathroom worked fine. No-one speaks any English (and why should they?) which makes communication difficult. But we are in the middle of the Atacama Desert.

Great town surrounded by beautiful natural sights. Hotel is basic (unsurprising given where it is) but clean and comfortable. Good breakfast and lovely staff, even a nice dip pool. Avoid room 1 though. Too close to the food area and people sit out at night drinking and laughing. Which is great as long as it's not right by your headboard... More

We stayed at Hotel Kimal for 3 nights. Overall, it had been an enjoyable stay. Location: very central, and it's a 5-10 min walk max to most of the restaurants / tour agencies in San Pedro. Yet, it's just off the main street - hence it's very peaceful/quiet at night. Rooms: decent size and clean. It feels a little bit... More

We spent a couple of nights in Hotel Kimal after our 3 day tour of the Salar de Uyuni. A lovely hotel and perfect place to slow down and relax. Rooms are very comfortable and clean. There are external areas around the hotel where you can sit either by your room or by the pool. The attached restaurant provides a... More

This is an upscale hotel, nice grounds, nice rooms, good restaurant, super staff. The rooms are good size with comfortable beds. It does get cold here and there are small furnaces in each room. The only thing is I think it gets hot here as well and I didn't see any AC although there is a small fan in the... More

The Kimal hotel is an oasis in the heart of the oasis of San Pedro. There is no tv in the rooms and wifi is scarce, the point is to simply rest! In the middle of the day the areas are nice and cool, at night they are warm. The restaurant is excellent and we ate many times because it... More

For a 3 star hotel this far exceeded our expectations. Staff were lovely and very helpful and informative about excursions and general tour recommendations. Rooms were spotless. Good breakfast. Kimal Spa was excellent - we tried thier deep tissue massage. Would definitely go there again!

We highly recommend this small hotel. The entire facility is cozy, welcoming, clean, and friendly. The staff are exceptional in their helpfulness and friendliness. We were relieved to learn that their English was far better than our poor Spanish. (We should have been better in Spanish -- it's Chile, after all, not Canada.) Communication was not a problem -- we... More

My two daughters (6 yr) and I stayed here for one night only in order to participate in some school field trip activities. The location is perfect - very clos to Caracoles (where most restaurants and shops are located) and an easy walk to the town square. The room was comfortable and the hotel provided bottled drinking water free of... More
