Don't like to complain but this was at least as bad as some of the reviews had warned. Damp room, paper thin walls mean you hear everything in adjoining rooms, evening buffet was very disappointing with all 'hot' dishes barely warm.

after reading all the reviews i expected the worse, and found out that it wasn't so bad. the room was small and basic, including squashed mosquitoa on the walls. the staff at the front dask wasnt that nice and welcoming. everything in the hotel is overpriced so bring what you can with you. the only advantage is the great location...

I liked the photo prints that line the hotel lobby. It's a nice way to chill and bring in other possible sights of the mountain during other seasons, etc. Has wifi, warm showers, rooms are not too big but adequate for 2 pax. Cleanliness OK. Well-lit rooms that we stayed. There is a torch, warm jackets provided for guests who...

Nothing to complain about this hotel (except that there is no air conditioning, but hardly a problem except on a very hot summer day). Good english speaking staff. Good a la carte dishes. Buffet quite OK too (especially compared with the terrible Baiyun). Great location, close to the northern beautiful loops. Would go again.

I'm just going to repeat everything everybody has already said. Location good, everything else bad. The dinner buffet looked adequate but we found that Beihai hotel's buffet looked better so we ate there and it was ok. Breakfast was Chinese and it was..... ok maybe. Definitely not a 4 star hotel.

hotel is located near peaks of HuangShan, easy to find it, close to see sunrise or sunset. rooms are smelly and not big, but big enough, bring your toothbrush. food is good, even breakfast buffet offers little of western taste (sausage, eggs, tomatoes, toast bread, tea - for 50rmb), dinner buffet (120rmb) is good, recommended. choose room with window and...

This hotel was booked for 3 people. 2 in a double bedded room and another person in a single room. The rooms were adequate and reasonably clean. The toilet and shower room was quite unique and small but again adequate and reasonably clean. The hotel being on the higher slopes was very Chinese and although the buffet style breakfast and...

Having read about the cut-throat prices and the terrible service of the Huangshan mountain-top hotels, I approached Shilin with some degree of caution/scepticism. The price for a night for a tiny 15sqm room was very high but unfortunately necessary if one wanted to spend the night on the mountain in order to catch the mountain's legendary sunrise/sunsets. The room was...

All the hotels in Huangshan mountains say they are a 4 star hotel. Well, you can discuss that. We have stayed in several hotels up there, but our stay in Shilin was the best. This hotel has a nice Photo-atmosphere. This year the staff spoke English. The location is perfect. And yes, you pay a lot of money but I...

The hotel is at the top of the mountain. The hotel and restaurant supplies are lugged up, 100 kg at a time, by porters, suspended from bamboo rods supported on their shoulders. So I am not going to complain at being charged 800 yuan for a 14 square meter room, or 200 yuan for a chicken, a plate of fried...
