We had a wonderful stay at Yangshuo Village Inn with the staff and particularly Gloria and Little Fish going out of their way to help in any way they could. Amongst other things, they were able to arrange private cars to take us to Xingping and a tea plantation, bicycles, maps, and a scooter on the last day. Other than the staff we also appreciate the efforts the hotel as a whole has made to make it a more sustainable and ecofriendly stay while maintaining high levels of comfort. The bed was amongst the most comfortable we have stayed in during our trip and towels were kept in an excellent condition. The hot water for the shower was powered by solar panels and our main criticism would be that this sometimes made it difficult to get cold water on a hot day. Finally, the hotel restaurant provided fresh and local dishes as well as Italian cuisine cooked to high standards and, keeping with the ecofriendly theme, most of the ingredients were locally sourced. The restaurant also had the advantage of offering unparalleled views of the nearby mountains and was particularly spectacular at sunset. The facilities made our experience feel as if we were staying in a family home rather than a B&B. But the way in which staff treated us, we felt like royalty. From delicious meals to organizing drivers snd tickets for events, the brilliant staff did not miss a trick. We look forward to an opportunity to visit again!!! Could not recommend enough!

Dear Angela, you have indeed discovered our secret! The Yangshuo Village Inn was created by renovating the home addition belonging to our family, and since 2008, we are still working here, welcoming all guests as members of our family. For us, the Village Inn will always be part of our village life, from the original water pump in the garden we still use to wash our vegetables, to the ancient pomelo grove in front of the house which still produce delicious fruit every year. I absolutely enjoyed my stay at Yangshuo Village Inn! The service was impeccable, the staff extremely friendly and helpful, and the room was clean and comfortable. I stayed in the Moon Hill View Queen Balcony Room, and the view was breathtaking. Gloria, one of the hostesses, helped with suggestions on where to go, booked my driver to visit the suggested places, and ensured my stay was pleasant. I was amazed by how ecofriendly the hotel was as well, providing water in glass bottles that can be easily refilled, having a solar power water heater, and reusable slippers. The downside of this is that I was unable to take a hot shower the entire trip because the water never heated... but this was definitely a minor issue. Overall, the environment is pleasant, and the staff definitely go out of their way to ensure your experience is wonderful!…

Dear Nikki, we so loved having you and have noted the issue with our solar hot water which takes time for the hot water to get to the shower. Sometimes if the hotel is not busy, it requires a minute or two and will seem lukewarm at the beginning, so moving the handle to the other side is even colder and makes the hot water from the hot side take even longer. Had we known about it, we would have immediately shown you and we apologize for not asking if everything was ok with your room. Our room was very spacious and clean and had a nice balcony. The inn is environmentally conscious (provides free water in glas bottles etc). The breakfast is either served on the rooftop terrace or in the courtyard, both locations are nice. The food itself is also quite good, there is wide choice of western food (Italian) available. Even though you would not expect it in Yangshuo, it is really delicious. The staff at the Yangshuo village Inn is extremely nice and accommodating. They helped us book tickets and trips and did not overcharge at all. The ladies are always smiling and you feel very welcome at the inn. We would definitely stay there again!

Amazing hotel with the eco friendly concept. Quiet village location looking into the Moon Hill. Great restaurant on the rooftop with great view and tasty food. The hosts were very friendly and kind, they were highly attentive to all of our needs and helpful with planning our day and arranging transportation. They made us feel as a part of their family :)

Gloria and Xiao Yu were extremely helpful and detailed - from giving me suggestions on what to do around town to booking a driver for me to get to Guilin - they did it all with diligence and friendliness. Luna, the rooftop restaurant (and my room with balcony) had a great view of the Moon Hill and decent non-Chinese spread. The beauty and spaciousness from the hustle and bustle of the more kitschy tourist sites is a welcomed relief.

Nice hotel, with nice rooms, a good restaurant at the roof. Staff is super friendly and really helpfull. Breakfast is very good, you can choose what you want to eat. The good in the restaurant was also very good and you have a nice view, sunset at the moonhill.

Our stay at the Yangshuo Village Inn was a blissful and serene experience full of joy and contentment. The eco friendly focus of the hotel, was inspiring and ahead of the curve in China. The out of town location surrounded by the incredible Karst peaks was a perfect break from the touristy nature of town. The staff (Sunny, Jing, and Rita) were outstanding, repeatedly going above and beyond to make our stay special, and always with the warmest of smiles. A special shout out should go to Gloria who handled all our travel requests, no matter how complex or bizarre and was quick to recommend the best itinerary for our two days there. Highlights of our trip included every meal at the Luna Italian restaurant, and the on the dot arrival of tailor made breakfasts in the garden. Tai Chi on the roof, and excursions including mud baths in the Gold Water Cave, and climbing to the summit of Moon Hill at sunrise were memorable moments. Overall it exceeded our expectations, and all for an unbelievably reasonable price. Couldn’t recommend it enough.…

This is a perfect hotel for those who want to stay away from the hustle and bustle of yangshou. With a great view of moon hill and surrounding countryside its a perfect place to relax. The hotel is a small boutique hotel with really interesting decor giving it a very traditional style. We ate at the hotel several times and they serve a mix of Chinese and western dishes and they were all tasty. But the absolute best thing about this hotel is the staff. From the moment we arrived until we left all the staff were fantastic and so helpful. Including taking the time to show us a short cut to visit some caves and being honest about any trips we were thinking of taking. Great hotel made superb by the friendliness of the staff. And the little leaving gift will always be remembered.

This was our favorite hotel of our entire trip to China! My boyfriend and I loved it and we intend to return again! Tina, Gloria, and all the staff were wonderful and so helpful with planning our days and arranging transportation. Unfortunately, the weather was poor for most of our stay in Yangshuo, so we spent a lot of time in the hotel. The staff, however, were always pleasant and upbeat and we miss their smiling faces. I recommend paying for the private taxi to and from Guilin airport. The expense is worth it to save you from the time and headache of using the bus and train. The bed was great - the pillow and duvet were so comfortable and felt luxurious after a long day of hiking. The only thing I have to report on the room is the sink in the bathroom was kind of ridiculous - more for looks than actually washing of hands and/or face. Water always splashed everywhere. But we loved the decor! The restaurant is also fantastic. They have a good selection for breakfast, but I definitely recommend getting the local specialty rice noodles! Best dish I ate in China!…
