I stayed here four nights to host a course down the street at the hospital. I had worked with the hotel's sales staff for a few months and finally met Tori in person. She was exceptionally accommodating and pleasant. She helped some course attendees who also mentioned her name so Kudos to her! Now on to the actual hotel review......

Wanted to stay in downtown Birmingham. I felt all the hotels were expensive but this was the most reasonable of the lot. The location is good. The bistro/bar area was just ok. It was very busy, short staffed and very overpriced. I would stay here again but would plan things out differently. Very limited coffee in the room, then the...

The employees especially T. Green were very accommodating during our stay. Everything requested was accurate. It is a very kid friendly hotel. Since it is close several hospitals, you will occasionally hear ambulances. You can walk to several eateries and there is a grocery store a few blocks away.

We stayed 2 nights. First of all the parking is absolutely ridiculous. (They failed to give us clear directions to begin) But we found the garage (there is no valet), the hotel shares the garage with the hospital apparently...and there is NO signage for the hotel so it was extremely confusing trying to decide if we were in the correct...

I stayed at this location for a work meeting. First of all the staff wasn't very friendly or helpful - no info about breakfast or parking, etc. From there it progressed downhill 1. My room smells strongly of cat urine 2. Bathroom had hair all over floor 3. Gym is in a hotel room. If you plan on using the...

It seems to me that Courtyard Marriotts and Holiday Inn Express are in a competition to send customers elsewhere. They are cold and sterile places with little to no appeal to the senses. My family and I came to this conclusion on a recent stay at the Courtyard Birmingham Downtown at UAB. The place is about as unwelcoming as any...

If you need to be at UAB for procedures and want a comfortable place to stay this is your place. The staff were very nice. The Bistro has surprisingly good food and drinks. The room was spacious and clean. The Ice machine was not working on the third floor when I was there but the staff brought ice to my...

We've stayed here before and we loved it, this time our rate was different. We usually get the military rate but this time they wouldn't allow it because the NCAA championship was going on. Sooo don't give the military rate so you can make more money? Always say "Thank you for your service" until we can make more money. A...

Hotel needs a facelift but clean and reasonably comfortable. Front desk staff was friendly. "Bistro" on site. Off site parking . Room next door partied late, thin walls meant I heard their jokes. Not funny.

I travel to UAB a lot, for medical purposes, and we always stay here, as it is connected to the hospital, and very convenient for us. The rooms are quite big, nicely decorated and always clean, the staff is great as always at any Marriott. It is within walking distance to many types of restaurants and activities as well, there...
