My Mandarin-speaking daughter and I spent the night in late October, arriving at 8:30pm after a four hour ascent on foot, most of it in the dark. We were exhausted and more than glad to spot the Shenqi when we reached the top. The hotel met our needs, but there was nothing "warm and cosy" about it. The rather morose...

We stayed there at the end of Jan. The hotel was very basic, more like a motel and dirty. I guess that we cannot complaint too much since it's on top of Mount Tai. There was no shower due to the winter dry season. Watching sunrise was the high light of the stay. We paid quite a lot but i...

I booked my stay at Shenqi Hotel through Ctrip- no problems. I asked Ctrip for the hotel email address to inquire about transportation options upon my departure. Ctrip forwarded me the hotel email, but the hotel did not respond. I don't think they are set up to do this, there was very little English spoken. I had a difficult time...

The moral of my review is: Be very wary when booking through Ctrip, China's online travel service, and don't expect professional Western standards from China's service industry, especially hotels in the boondocks such as this one. Their staff have little education or exposure to the outside world, and don't understand customer service. Also note that many hotels in China don't...

To start with the good news: it was worthwhile seeing the Tai Shan sunset and sunrise! We had booked a room for 960 Yuan but it was gloomy and had no water (!) so we upgraded. The room now cost 1800 RMB (in advance, plus 200 RMB deposit). For this we got a shower but no loo paper, no safe,...

First, there are not many hotels listed on the internet that are located on Taishan. This was probably the only one. The outter appearance of the hotel is not so great, however, the hotel rooms were well maintained, and facility is well equiped considered that this hotel had to have almost all supplies transported manually from bottom of Taishan. One...

Well, it this hotel is surely not a 5star location, but it has clean rooms and nice food at the mountain top. The location: It is just about a five minute walk from the favourite spot at the mountain top to view the sunset. It is also a 20 minute walk from the cablecar station. No cars or any other...

What a terrible hotel. Toilets not working. No Hot water. Absolutely terrible service. Dirty sheets. No towels. Don't stay here unless you have to for the sunrise and sunset. Plenty of people make the trek in the dark....probably to avoid staying here.

This is a tricky hotel to rate, if you climb Thi Shan mountain you haven´t got many options, climb back down again (only for the super fit and you miss sunrise), stay here or we think one other accommodation option. Shenqi certainly bills itself as the top place and it appears to be so - lobby etc, however the rooms...
