The breakfast and dinner buffet in the hotel are very rich, and the local customs and cuisine are delicious! Unforgettable experience. We’ll come again for vacation :)

We stayed here for New Year's Eve. We had a room on the 9th floor with a view on Lake Erhai that was absolutely amazing. The hotel is very well maintained and offers all the amenities you need. They have a good gym and a 20m pool with changing rooms on the 11th floor. The rooms are spacious, clean and nicely designed. We had optional breakfast. Many options available, also Western style. With an IHG membership you can get breakfast for a special price (90 RMB). The same applies for the seafood buffet dinner for around 160 RMB. Good restaurants are closeby, too. We tried a Sushi place, a Thai/East Asian restaurant and the Leisure Cafe, all within 5 minutes walking distance. The hotel is located in Dali Newtown, 15 minutes drive away from the railway station. Taxis to Dali oldtown are easy to order via Didi and cost around 40-50 RMB. After arrival at the hotel we were offered a welcome drink. The staff was very attentive and always spared a smile for us. 5 stars well deserved!

My family stayed at the Indigo for one night during April 2019 and it was a good stay.
The hotel is literally across the road from Erhai, on the southern side, and nicely positioned near the CBD area (not the ancient city).
We stayed in the Deluxe Lake View Suite, which was excellent, spacious and had the full Erhai view from the living room, bedroom and bathroom.
As IHG Platinum Ambassador, we enjoyed breakfast and welcome drinks (no club lounge), but the only disappointment was that Suite upgrades had to be paid for and was not complimentary offered to Platinum Ambassadors, or us anyway.
Overall, it was a nice short stay and good experience.

Services absolutely non-existent. Front desk staff cold and unhelpful. The so-called deluxe 180’ lake view room is smaller than a standard one, with its door opening directly into the bathroom area — your shower on the left and your bathroom on the right. Bathroom door is at the same time your closet door. If you choose to close your bathroom, closet remains wide-open, vice versa. Drainage is also loud at night. Lighting design poor. I received close to no sleep in my stay. Moving straight to Hilton today. P.S. I stayed at the Lijiang Indigo right before this one. What a shame the two share the same banner. Dali Indigo is truly worse than a Holiday Inn. Never again.

The hotel is located facing the beautiful Erhai Lake with views over the whole lake. The hotel is very new and beautifully appointed. Lots of glass and fresh colors make it a great place to stay. A number of restaurants right and it's footsteps it is about a 30 min taxi ride away from the main tourist attractions like the ancient town and the 3 pagodas. Breakfast is fantastic and the gym is great too. Staff is very attentive and friendly. Only thing to note is that right now they don't seem to accept foreign issued credit cards. I paid with wechat instead. The rooms aren't very well insulated so you might hear your neighbors or the room attendant outside the room. I would definitely choose the Indigo again if travels bring us to Dali again.

This is perhaps my only time to Dali, as I don't feel Dali has much to offer when compared to Li Jiang.
Late posting, stay was August 2018. I heard this was a locally run hotel prior to being an Indigo property by IHG. Rooms was very spacious and quite luxurious with separate bath and shower. Overall cleanliness by the housekeeping team was very good as well, and everything was working in order. The breakfast room offered a large variety of local and western options.
Best part of staying in this hotel is the opportunity to take a stroll along the lake early morning or late afternoon, the locals appeared to enjoy this as well.

Fantastic 5-star service! The location is excellent, only 15 minutes ride away from Dali Train Station. I made a mistake in booking the hotel room without breakfast. However, it was rectified by the senior reception staff. You can charter a car for a whole day to tour Dali from the hotel for RMB600. My driver Mr. Phang (小潘) is very professional, went beyond his job scope to explain the places of interest to me. I had a great day in Dali with my driver, as he also helps me to take pictures. When I went back to my room in the evening, I had a nice surprise. The housekeeper left a handwritten note to wish me a pleasant journey. My clothes were neatly folded too. Comfortable stay and I also enjoy the city tour very much!

What a fabulous hotel on the shores of Lake Erhai in Dali. A truly wonderful experience - excellent food, service and beautiful suite overlooking the lake. A great way to celebrate our wedding anniversary with such warm, personal service. Breakfast buffet is excellent: freshly brewed coffee and squeezed juices (no boxed nonsense) and all pastries made in-house. Highly recommended!

We had a short vacation in Dali. Undoubtedly we chose Indigo Dali and realised that it was the best decision. The rooms had an amazing panorama of the Erhai lake. The staff were very hospitable. Our entire family thoroughly enjoyed the stay. The Concierge team went the extra mile to share us some very local tips that helped us explore Dali and the surrounding areas like a local. We are vegetarians - the F&B team took good care of our dietary restrictions and offered us palatable meals.

We enjoyed our stay very much. Everyone working there was very friendly. The dinner buffet is good and the price is excellent! The only thing i have to criticize is, that animals are not decoration. The birds by the reception are hold under horrible conditions! Please either set them free or put them together in a bigger cage with space to fly and sandy underground. The birds are having a horrible life, please rethink that!
