We stayed there for 3 nights and it was a wonderful experience. Everything shows up as it has to be for a relaxing break in a traditional Chinese family hotel. Breathtaking views over the old town you can have from the 2.floor of the hotel. Ask always for the second floor to have these views. Also we loved the beautiful...

This hotel is as beautiful and charming as it can possibly be. However, the rooms are extremely small. We were able to hide our luggage in an armoire and thus move about the room comfortably. However, it took some arranging. The walls between the rooms do not provide much privacy since you can hear the conversations in the next room....

We stayed for three nights and were very happy here. Arrived late in the night and woke in the morning to a fabulous view. Really unique and beautiful gardens - all very Zen! Breakfast was simple but fresh and lovely music is played. We couldn't fault the staff - nothing was too much trouble. Yes, it is noisy at night...

We stayed four nights in Zen Garden Hotel ( Lion Mountain Yard). It was very nicely decorated with well selected Chinese antique style furniture. The only pity is the loud noise from the disco bar down the hill till 11:30pm at night. You can feel the vibrations when you put your head against the pillow. Boom! Boom! Boom! If the...

After read all the good reviews, my partner & I decided to stay with this hotel for 4 nights. Maybe i had too high expectation based on reviews, when i arrived the room, the hotel wasn't fit my description. The staffs are very very friendly and they are trying to offer the best services. However the facilities are not reach...

Stayed here instead of Banyan Tree because of the great reviews, and the staff and hotel has definitely lived up to these reviews! This is strictly speaking a guesthouse, but it does have hotel service - bedsheets and towels are changed and tidied everyday. The staff keep the hotel wonderfully clean. They also replace fresh apples and oranges, as well...

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 4 days over the 2011 Chinese New Year. It was a bit tricky to find, and our taxi driver had to call the concierge, who guided him up the hill. A taxi ride from the airport should run you about 60-100 RMB. Two folks from the front desk met us in the back...

In the heart of Lijiang but hidden along a small quiet lane. The hotel exudes charm and quality and is matched by efficient, welcoming and warm staff. Its small, secluded and high class. Recommended without any doubts.

The Zen Garden hotel is an absolute delight. We thank the friend who recommended it! The location, the views and the ambience all made our stay of 3 nights a great pleasure. It is in the old town with a stream and bridge just outside the main door. It's only 100 meteres to the heart of the cafe and tea-house...

Traveling with my son and daughter, both of whom speak Chinese, we stayed at this hotel twice (we returned from Dali to see the Naxi Orchestra) in early April 2010. The fabulous multi-level Zen garden, antiques, views from the hill top and quiet location in the midst of the Old Town definitely rate it a #1. The staff was always...
