Wonderful wonderful hotel with wonderful scenery . I love this hotel it’s amazing . The staff are amazingly kind and supportive . It is amazing it really is and very very close to the entrance of the old town . If you come to Lijiang you must stay here . Amazing…. I cannot stress enough that the staff and management are amazing .
The hotel was surprisingly even greater than expected. The best place to be is at the lounge bar, with the outstanding view of the Jade Dragon Mountain. The rooms are comfortable, the bathtub was fantastic, beds were soft and nice, the living room was cozy and all nicely decorated. The area of the hotel is clean and beautiful with all the gardens and decoration, making it a pleasant place to take a walk too. The only thing that could have been a bit better is the main restaurant for lunch and dinner, the menu is far too short, and the staff barely speaks any English. But, at the Chinese restaurant, it was amazing. When back in Lijiang, very likely will stay there again.
We stayed at indigo but had our breakfast and dinner in Intercontinental. The buffet breakfast was so mediocre, with hardly any choice. Quite disappointing for an intercontinental hotel. We had dinner and whatever we ordered from the beer list was apparently not available. I ordered tuna salad with potatoes and the tuna were stinky and spoiled. The staff tried hard and were pleasant, however, the whole food experience was horrible. No wonder we were the only people in the restaurant.
We loved out stay at this beautiful and unique property. The hotel is gorgeous, but the service really made our experience memorable. Every staff member showed so much care, it was quite remarkable! We stayed in suite 6034 which has a beautiful view of the mountains and was fully equipped with luxury linens, huge soaking tub, and two bathrooms. The club offerings for cocktail time were so extensive we ended up having dinner there most nights! Thank you to General Manager, Jason and his whole team for a flawless experience.
We arrived in Lijiang from Dali for our summer holidays and the experience here at the Intercontinental Hotel Lijiang has been amazing. Everyone made us feel like we were at our home. From the minute we checked in, we were greeted by Tony from Guest Services with a huge smile and attended to all our needs so patiently. Each day, all the staff from the morning breakfast to housekeeping to concierge, everyone greeted us sincerely and warmly and engaged us in conversation. Venus from Club Lounge recommended places of interest to visit. Eric from Concierge helped us with tickets to the Lijiang shows. We were extremely well taken care of. Kudos to the entire team at Intercontinental! We will definitely remember our holiday. It’s the warmth of the team that makes an extraordinary memorable holiday …
Excellent location with the back door leading directly into the old town. Buildings follow the traditional style of the old town, but amenities are modern. Great rooms and excellent service. Nice and quiet courtyards that blends in with the surrounding atmosphere. Very nice experience overall. Wish we had stayed longer.
Our recent 4 day stay at the Intercontinental Lijiang in an executive room for 2 adults and 2 young children was excellent. This is definitelv a top location for families with children located adjacent to the Ancient Town. Walking the Ancient Town from the hotel is a breeze with direct gate access. The executive room fits four without a spare bed with one sleeping on the couch and three in the large bed which is a great plus as spare beds can be a real user of space even in a larger room. The small shared garden is a nice touch and great for outdoor dining if eating in the room. The breakfast buffet is expansive and suits a range of needs from child to adult and from Western to Asian which was perfect for our mixed family. The children enjoyed the pool and children’s playroom which are great for end of day relaxation after a hard day of touring in Lijiang’s often cool rainy summer days. A special thanks to Catherine in housekeeping/concierge for kindly seeing our left behind items made their way home by mail. And ofcourse thanks to Tony and all the staff in the Executive Center who made our stay very memorable.…
So many great qualities, with a beautiful setting, perfect location and a surprisingly good breakfast inclusive of western options. However, there is a significant language barrier if you have any issues. The staff did however make every attempt to solve and compensate issues that arose. Additionally the 90's rap music played form 6am throughout reception and the breakfast hall is out of sync with the hotel ambiance.
This hotel is perfectly located on the edge of the Old Town with a back entrance that makes it very easy to get in and out. This is especially convenient during COVID when there are checkpoints at all the entrances which are especially burdensome for foreigners. We really like our room which had a comfortable bed and really enjoyed the pillow menu. The views from the main building of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain are spectacular (see the picture below). The breakfast was delicious with a lot of Western and Chinese choices. We also really enjoyed our spa experience with a great treatment experience which was very relaxing after several days of hiking.
Welcome drink at the lobby bar is amazing, with the great view of the snow mountain. You can take photo everywhere! Very classic of the old town design, but I still prefer the indigo at the next door. One cons is the air conditioner, you can only make it warm instead of cold.
