Hostal Chasqui is the best value place I've found in three months travelling South America. I negotiated the price on arrival and got a fantastic double room, with en suite and hot water, opening on to a courtyard with a great mountain view. Good kitchen...More

The bed was comfortable, the water hot, and Roberto, who does ot speak any English, tried very hard to make everything comfortable for me. The problem is the hostel itself. Very shabby, no common room, lots and lots of staris, for ex., kitchen is on...More

Roberto woke up at 5am and insisted on giving us a tour of his home. He welcomed us to anything growing in his garden, told us to feel free to take any of the food in the kitchen and use it as our own. The...More

Stayed here in January 2017 and it was a very good hostel. Good beds and very clean. Also the bathroom was simple but good. The rooms are spacious (for hostel standard) and the location is good (a 5-10 minute walk to the central market).

We arrived after dark and there were no lights on. It was very difficult to find the entrance & the bell. We stumbled around in the dark for a while before we figured out how to access the hostel. We had reserved, and given an...More

Hello, In two weeks I will be arriving at the quito airport at 5pm, and will have to leave the next day at 3pm. In that short time period, do you think it is possible to get to otavallo, spend the night and the morning, and then go straight from thier back to the airport in time for my flight? I am ok with any combination of busses or taxi, as long as it is not too expensive. THANKS
