Roberto woke up at 5am and insisted on giving us a tour of his home. He welcomed us to anything growing in his garden, told us to feel free to take any of the food in the kitchen and use it as our own. The next morning he explained, in detail, his personalized map of the city and the surrounding...

Stayed here in January 2017 and it was a very good hostel. Good beds and very clean. Also the bathroom was simple but good. The rooms are spacious (for hostel standard) and the location is good (a 5-10 minute walk to the central market).

We arrived after dark and there were no lights on. It was very difficult to find the entrance & the bell. We stumbled around in the dark for a while before we figured out how to access the hostel. We had reserved, and given an arrival time, so it was a disappointing welcome. The first room we were shown was...

I went to Ecuador in June of 2011 (there wasn't an option in the drop down box to go that far back!). Hostal Chasqui was my favorite of the 4 places we stayed in the country. I went with my boyfriend and my son (who was 5 years old at the time). We planned on going to Otavalo for one...

The owner Roberto is amazing. He is super friendly and always available for tips and any advice. The kitchen is on the rooftop and you have a really nice view. It's not in the center of Otavalo, but at the same time very nice because it's pretty quiet. We had a great stay - especially thanks to Roberto!

A nice hostal in a nice town, but made great by the fantastic welcome we received from the owner Roberto! Probably the friendliest hostel i've ever stayed in, he gave us so much information and made us feel very welcome. Also an excellent location near to town.

Roberto was very helpful and informative. Great map of town and surrounds with plenty to do. There is much, much more to do than the weekly market - we extended our stay. Clean room, spacious. Great views of volcanoes from roof terrace, Good, well stocked kitchen. Clean bathroom.

I never felt so welcomed in the last 3 weeks during my travel in Ecuador. The hostal is not directly in the City centre but just 5-8min to the main plaza. The owner is super nice and he took a lot of time to give all the Information you will need for your stay. The room was really nice as...

Jumping out of the taxi my small backpack was disappeared out of the (not properly closed by the taxi driver) trunk. It contained passport, credit cards and cell phone. Roberto was my luck. I was totally shocked and out of my mind. He offered me tea, gave me his laptop and when my friend accidentally called my missing cellphone and...

I spend three nights in Otavalo and had a very nice time at the Hostal Chasqui. The owner Roberto is super friendly and gives very good advice for visiting the city, its markets on Saturday and places nearby. The rooms are basic but clean. Wifi is good. No breakfast, but nice panaderias just down the road and the kitchen is...
