During our visit to Otavalo we stayed in a beautiful, rustic lodge, but decided to visit Hacienda Pinsaqui for dinner one evening. Our hostess recommended it over another hacienda in the area and called ahead, though I do not believe reservations must be made in advance. The menu provided many good options. We ordered chicken, steak, and a pasta dish...

You will find an elegant but also cosy country house, with a private plaza de toros to boot. The owners are very friendly and the food is ok. Only negative is that only the owners speak English . The cuisine is simple but well prepared.

The Hacienda Pinsaqui, is a great place if you need a peaceful stay. Even if it's close to the Panamericana, you don't hear the road too much. The place is absolutely beautiful, ancient and preserved with lots of respect. The room are very confortable, the wifi is good and the service is absolutely perfect. I highly recommend this place! In our two week trip in Ecuador - we experienced many different hotels. This hacienda was memorable given its history. We had the honor of staying in room number 1 which we were told was the room Simon Bolivar - renowned as the Liberator of South America - stayed in. Room number 1 was massive - huge bedroom area that...

There are fruit trees and flowers everywhere. It is a nice place to just walk around and relax, or hang a hammock or eno

First built in the 18th Century, this large, historic, beautiful place has had many lives under one aristocratic family. Simon Bolivar stayed here; a treaty with Colombia was signed here. After urban growth made a large cattle ranch impossible, the hacienda was a textile factory. The current owner converted it to a hosteria in the 1990s. Hospitality is personal; service is...

After reading many reviews of this hacienda, I felt I went in knowing what to expect. I expected old world charm with some wear, a staff who may not all speak English but was doing their best to make your stay comfortable, rooms that may not be temperature controlled but had fireplaces to keep you warm and located in a...
