Our grandchildren, ages 8 + 10 loved the Hacienda ( so did we). Our room was great, the food was good + the grounds ( including the Monastery + the sables) were gorgeous. There was so much for the kids to do on the grounds ( run around, look at animals, horse back ride, play in the playground, fibpnd the...

Thank you for taking such valuable time to discover so many aspects of the estate and compose such an enthusiastic review. Cusin and El Monasterio is, indeed a children's paradise! I'm sorry that mother goose was so defensive of her goslings but relieved to know that you recovered well. I'm looking forward to eating the goose for dinner! Regresa pronto!

We chilled here for a break after 8 days in the Galapagos and it was the perfect counterpoint. The garden cottages are a delight and the main house, with lounge, dining room, bar was perfect for relaxing. A great location for visiting Otavalo, Tren de la Libertad etc. Just one gripe - a first world problem, my kids would say...

Yes, Cusin is a retreat from our hectic and demanding lives. Fortunately, all missed television programs and sports have been recorded and can be viewed in the future, endlessly! Thank you for taking such time to describe and appreciate some of Cusin's facilities.

We enjoyed an overnight stay here to visit Otavalo market. The room was comfortable and the bed lovely. Dinner was delicious, breakfast less so. There is no buffet which obviously restricts choice. The gardens are beautiful and very tranquil some parts of the hotel have seen better days. The staff were all very attentive, smiley and helpful.

Thank you for expressing your enjoyment of your unfortunately short stay at Hacienda Cusin, a 30-acre complex. Thank you, especially for complimenting the always positive, hard-working staff. Regresa pronto!

Wow! This really is a glittering jewel in the crown of Otavalo. The historic setting is sublime (which is really my thing, so I loved it). There's religious iconography, beautiful paintings, artefacts, sculptures and open fires to be enjoyed everywhere. The staff are delightful and remind you constantly that our happiness is their first concern; lovely touches include a hot-water...

Hacienda Cusin is a very comfortable place to stay. The gardens are very beautiful and the rooms are comfortable. The rooms have a fireplace which they will light for you in the evening. The hot water bottle which they put in the bed at night is a nice gesture. Rooms have safes. The restaurant is very good with very friendly...

Thank you for such compliments, and your recommendation for visiting nearby Otavalo. Yes, even two nights is insufficient to enjoy this complex place. Regresa!

Very charming stay in this hacienda in Otavalo. My husband and I were here for only one night. The hacienda has many historical artifacts all over, not to mention the beautiful gardens! Our room was quaint and comfortable - complete with a fireplace and hot water bottles between the sheets for warmth. The restaurant was beautiful and the meal was...

An adjacent monastery well worth visiting, beautiful gardens and a volcano you can see from the windows of certain rooms... top that off with the grandeur of a great room and dining area with antiques that include religious icons and apparel. A recipe for relaxation and rumination without financial ruination. Well worth a visit and a stay.

Thank you for exploring and appreciating the many facets of El Monasterio, which, considering its proximity, a surprising number of guests miss. I particularly enjoyed your last sentence - 'the three 'rs'! Regresa pronto!

If you are looking for a spotless, sleek and modern hotel near Otavalo, don’t stay here. If however, you seek the charm of a 17th century estate with loads of character that has been converted to a place to stay, look no further. My wife and I spent 4 nights at Hacienda Cusin after a 7 night Galapagos cruise and...

What an extraordinarily detailed, warm and detailed review (an article, in fact), for La Familia de Cusin (and future guests) to have! And Sierra 25 has had a new bed installed. Thank you for your recommendations and for mentioning staff by name, and for spending so much of your valuable time to do so.

Hacienda Cusin was built in 1602 and has been restored and maintained beautifully. There are about 30 rooms, some in the main buildings and some in cottages in the grounds. The gardens are a major part of the attraction, filled with all varieties of trees, palms, flowers and orchids, plus alpacas graze quietly through the day. Fires are lit in...

Hacienda Cusin is a dream -- few places greet you with a staff family that remembers you, your family, & your friendly… Why even the llamas and hummingbirds call out to you. The rooms are spacious, a fireplace that is lit every evening & a water bottle in your bed! The grounds are filled with landscaped gardens:ornamental and edible -...
