We stayed only one night at this hacienda and sadly never saw it in the daylight, but it felt like walking into a cosy Austrian ski chalet ( fireplaces, a wood burner in our room, lots of wood decor and quirky antiques - irons and sewing machines ) Dinner was fairly plane but tasty. Breakfast was being served when we...

Once again a great stay in an excellent hotel in Ecuador. Nice quiet hotel with beautiful grounds. Rooms are big and have comfortable beds. Only stayed one night but would recommend this hotel. Restaurant was good for dinner as well for buffet breakfast. Friendly service as seems to be everywhere in Ecuador.

Lovely colonial house made into a great place to stay on your train/ car journey. Rooms vary, but we found ours somewhat cold. Dinner in an impressive dinning room - very good, whilst breakfast was taken in another adjacent room equally attractive in style. Had a short visit to some of the more interesting parts of the hacienda. Very good...

I spent the night here with the assumption that it was close to the Train to Nariz Del Diablo but once I arrived I learned it was over 1.5 hours away. I decided to stay since the hotel seemed very cozy and had that mid-western theme which I liked alot. The rooms were amazingly large, clean and comfortable. There are...

To describe this place as simply a hotel will be doing it a disservice. This was a sanctuary, luxurious space and grounds! We checked in as a family of three but was given a double room with 2 queen size beds. That was enough. Huge room, with great windows and views of the gardens! Plus your own small pot belly...

Very pleasant hotel respecting colonial architecture. Rooms are spacious and comfortable with lots of light and a open fire which you can ask the reception to be set. Breakfast is not as varied as it could be but still fine. We had dinner once in the hotel restaurant - the menu is very varied and the choices we had were...

A lovely hacienda in spacious grounds. We had a room in a 2 floor outbuilding. It was November so there were Christmas trimmings everywhere. The main building was very nice with a nice internal courtyard and a veranda where you could enjoy the afternoon sun out of the breeze. The food was very nice and the breakfast excellent. It was...

We were part of the tren crucero group. This is a beautiful hotel and well run. Our room was comfortable and spacious. Note: because it is high up, the rooms do not have air conditioning. It turned out not to be a issue as the room cooled down. The room did not have a coffee maker or refrigerator. The Internet...

It's a very nice hacienda with a beautiful garden. We had a big room in the hacienda ( room 111). You also have little cabins in the garden. Unfortunately we had a very noisy room. We could hear the neighbours. The rooms have very bad isolation and in the neighbourhood there was a party with very loud music. It was...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The wonderful Hacienda Abraspungo is located at 2,754 metres above sea level and is surrounded by the magnificence of the Ecuadorian Andes. It is named after a glacial valley which is situated between the Chimborazo Volcano and Carihuairazo, in the exact centre of Ecuador.Hacienda Abraspungo, with its comfortable, charming and high level installations offers a personalized service in the ideal spot to enjoy the peace and beauty of the Andes. The architectural style found here offers the best of traditional colonial design often used in the ancestral mansions and haciendas of Ecuador. The Hacienda is adorned with old photographs and illustrations of Andean landscapes, which today constitutes as a testimony to eras gone by. The antiques on display in the social areas give a colonial flavour as well as a feel for the pre-Colombian cultures of the region. The visitor can truly appreciate the richness of the natural resources offered by the Chimborazo Province and Ecuador in general. Each room takes its name from one of the mountains of Ecuador. That mountain is shown in the photographs displayed within the interior design in the room. The owner’s commitment is to create a working environment which allows sustainable growth, enhancing positive image and generating an overall feeling of trust between the working force, the clients, and the community, aiming to become a point of reference within the tourist industry of Ecuador and the city of Riobamba. ... more   less
