Stayed in a loft room with kitchen, it was fantastic to have large fridge for plenty of cold drinks and fresh fruit. The bedding and blankets were heavenly, same with rainfall shower head. The loft is very quiet and peaceful for sleeping I only heard faint sound of the ocean. This place is really made with surfers and ocean lovers in mind. There are multiple outdoor showers and pool that are so instagrammable. The hospitality here is first class, I fell during my trip and needed a cane to use stairs and the hotel staff had a wooden cane made for me and ready the very next day! There is filtered water readily available in multiple parts of hotel and restaurant.

Absolutely loved our time at Palo Verde, the staff were attentive and kind throughout! When our patio door didn't lock, they replaced it quickly. When I fell while out & about and I needed stitches, and there wasn't a driver to be had - one of their amazing staff who teaches at the school (Rafael) drove us to the clinic and waited for us. A true gentleman and such a kind soul. We were also incredibly fortunate to catch the baby turtle release - it was truly amazing. We had let the staff know we were interested, and on our last morning, we were lucky that one was taking place. It was a lifelong amazing memory for our kids and us for sure! Two wee issues in an otherwise fantastic stay: The hotel really needs a dedicated first aid kit (this isn't unique to them, the restaurant where I fell similarly didn't have one). They also should put together an up-to-date list with pharmacies and clinics - for instance, the clinic in El Tunco we found ourselves. This would empower the already wonderful and kind staff to respond more nimbly to an issue. Second issue is that the guy who took us on our tour to the Waterfall (which was beautiful!) took many videos and photographs of our daughter as she was swimming in the waterfall lake - we assumed he did to share with us, but then he did not. We found the whole thing to be rather creepy. This is no fault of the hotel, obviously. But something to keep in mind if you have kids and go with that tour company. I genuinely can't say enough good things about our stay at Palo Verde - we'll be back for sure!

Amazing stay! The staff is friendly. The facilities are clean, and look exactly as pictured. It’s located in a great area with plenty of restaurants and mini markets in walking distance. The mojitos from the bar were great. Be sure to take wash cloths with you. This property doesn’t offer wash cloths. The rooms are spacious. The ocean view room was amazing, and I enjoyed breakfast on my terrace. The room doesn’t include a microwave or mini fridge, but there is a safe. The beach area is rocky, I would recommend wearing beach shoes. They offer daily excursions. Highly recommend booking for your next stay.

We had a lovely time here and the staff was amazing but honestly there were lots of issues here. The hotel needs work (maintenance type work - broken door handles, another room had hot water issues and that same room also had AC issues - the business idea is great but there were a lot of inconveniences and I am all for sustainability. Also the menu needs a complete (you will make more money because we went out to eat a lot because of the food, breakfast needs work too) I would do a do over -a few items like “ Bet* “ might help add that fried fish etc in my humble opinion. Again great staff and great location. I would recommend hiring a driver to take you around and I would not rent a car because I do not want to deal with any type of liability after a great vacation but again that’s my personal Opinion. El Salvador as amazing and I hope you take this feedback with love and act on these recommendations. #donotskipElsalvador 🇸🇻

We stayed at the honeymoon suite for 5 nights and it was amazing! Our room had a very nice view and a large balcony. The staff was super friendly and we loved the food and cocktails! We also loved the fire dances and the happy hour as well. We loved that we had our VIP area at the pool (always reserved for us). However we did not like the surroundings of the hotel, it is a very nice boutique hotel and it is surrounded by very poor streets, constructions and empty lots.

My family and I just returned from Palo Verde Hotel at El Zonte Beach in El Salvador. If you want to be off the grid and truly relax, this is the place to be. Every single employee (front desk, restaurant, shuttle drivers and more) went out of their way to keep us happy. The hotel has an Infiniti pool which makes the view of the ocean even better. I had two rooms. I had room #1 (downstairs), which had a rear sliding door that led directly to the pool. Rom #11, which was a two story loft on the second floor, had a kitchen and a nice mini living room. Their food menu was someone limited, but really good. They even had a selection for vegans. Their mixed drinks were made from fresh fruit and you could tell the difference in the quality. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. Their cable tv did not have many channels to watch, but then again I enjoyed that part very much so. Their restaurant overlooks the great surfing of the Pacific Ocean and you can sit there for hours watching the surfers take advantage of the great waves. The greatest part of the trip was when I was at home (USA) and received a text from the hotel with a picture of a gold watch, asking me if anyone in my party had forgotten the watch. I replied that it was not our watch and it probably belonged to someone else before us. I thought that was very honorable. The hotel has a shuttle service that can take you anywhere you want. Our family took a shuttle ($20 round trip) to El Tunco Beach. We felt very safe everywhere we went. The only thing I did not like was the fact that we had to pay $80 per person for a COVID test in order for us to return home. I guess since the resort is far from the city, there weren’t many choices for a test site. Overall, this was a great getaway at a great private and relaxing resort. Patricia at the front desk and the rest of her of her staff were all extremely professional, friendly and courteous. I will return.

We enjoyed our stay at Palo Verde very much. The pool is great and everything is generally as advertised. The staff is super friendly and nice, and the food from the kitchen was excellent. It is right on the beach. Definitely a great choice in El Zonte.

Came for a short stay didn’t get to experience the pool the pros: beautiful beachfront resort the people were friendly when you text on WhatsApp they respond very quickly they have a taxi service for you thats always readily available the drivers are friendly and respectful. The sangria the best I had hands down in El Salvador the breakfast was good and loved the chips and fresh guacamole the beach view and access was wonderful the hotel Is clean and eco friendly. The bed was very comfortable especially the pillows. Cons: the shower gel dispenser wasn’t full it finished by day 2 the tv didn’t work except for netflix the view wasn’t the best from the room but that wasn’t a big deal at night the hotel is extremely dark which can be dangerous walking down the stairs wasn’t a fan of the shrimp rice balls it was bland and only one ball had shrimp. There’s absolutely no UBER so don’t bother looking for one had to find out the hard way when uber kept saying no driver in the area they provide Daniels Travels taxi service which honestly is pricey compared to Uber prices you pay between 15-20 each way per ride. The lighting in the room is very dim not good if you want to apply make up and there’s no closet in the room. All in all I would definitely stay here again it’s close to everything specifically El Tunco Beach the pros outweigh the cons.

After doing lot of back and forth between 3 star and 4 star I have anyways gone ahead with 3 star. Rating might depend on what we are looking for. Example early morning coffee is very important for my husband and this expensive hotel has no coffee machine in the room or anywhere else. So have to wait till they serve you coffee during break fast. Room is very basic and a request should be given in case if we want it to be cleaned or else they won’t clean till we checkout. Towels are not changed unless ask for. Useless door mats are placed near shower area which will not absorb water making room all wet and messy and ofcourse the danger of skidding is always there. Though looks very basic not sure what we’re they thinking it’s a beach side hotel after all… They are well organised, good breakfast menu served on your dedicated table near the room on time. Staff is cordial and helpful. Parking available.

This was our 1st time visiting El Salvador so we didn't know what to expect as far as level of hospitality and quality standards. Let me just say that this hotel impressed and exceeded at every level and made a big impact on us. You can tell its operation is groomed and inspired by BIG box hotel brand standards, but with the operational flexibility of a boutique hotel. We stayed in the Loft Apartment and it was great with space, kitchen , seating area, and 2nd floor bed. For an extended stay I HIGHLY recommend. Breakfast included was fantastic, menu options were abundant, and the service was impeccable across the board. You can tell the employees are on top of every detail and care about customer experience. Communication with front desk and concierge was made easy for foreign visitors through what's app and response is FAST. We were able to coordinate airport transfer, taxi, covid tests, and lots more far before we even arrived. Every unit that books also gets an "exclusive" double chaise lounge by the pool with an umbrella. In the US that comes at a premium. For surfers and people that want to learn, the point break right out back is awesome! We loved the sustainability message of the hotel, and learned that it went way beyond environmental impact. Simply put, this hotel and its owners care about the local people as much as the land. So I'd say that Palo Verde's idea of "sustainable" is as much tied to social implication as it is environmental. In a country where they are beginning to build touristic momentum, places like Palo Verde and El Zonte will begin to set standards, but you can tell they want to do it right from the get go. Just because this is a country with a history of violence and poverty, do not let that define your viewpoint of this place. The people are warm, proud, VERY smart and driven to succeed. Palo Verde Hotel is the epitome of that statement.
