The price was decent but for that decent price we did expect screens on the windows and being able to lock the windows on our bungalow. Nothing was stolen of course, but - when traveling you feel more comfortable knowing your gear is locked away. Place felt empty, not a resort you spend your vacation time at. The restaurant showed... Pros: good location, clean, friendly and helpful staff, live music every Friday/Saturday (confirm with hotel) Cons: no in-room wifi Tips: buy water from the market, bring lots mosquito repellent, have fun! Kaveka is a great hotel if you're are traveling on a budget. Given it's still expensive per night, but it's still a lot cheaper than any of the resorts... More

During check-in we were informed that the "Bungalow/Lanai" room that we had reserved was a "Non-air conditioned & no lanai" room and we were told that we could upgrade to a bungalow with air-con & lanai for $45USD per day even though our reservation through Expedia stated clearly that the "Bungalow/Lanai" room reserved had air-con and lanai included PLEASE CHECK... Our room had a large comfy bed, a very good shower & the ceiling fan-aircon combo did a fine job of keeping us cool. We particularly enjoyed having our own deck & swimming off the end of the pier. The staff were lovely. We liked being with ordinary Tahitian people getting on with their lives - from Tai the chatty... More

We had 9 days at the Kaveka hotel The staff were excellent and the unit was lovely I think 5 or 6 days on the island would be long enough as we pretty well saw everything in that time . We ate at the restaurant some evenings which was very good or we went along the road to a local... More

We had arrived in Moorea with another place to stay which we were having troubles finding. Went in to the Kaveka Hotel for some help. The staff was very helpful and cheerful, eventually we found our place. We didn't like the original place we booked and ended up staying at the Kaveka for the week that we were there. The... More

We did not expect a five star hotel but that was okay. We did want a family style room that could accommodate myself, husband, and two grown children comfortably. Hotel Kaveka has family bungalows that will do that. I guess what I really liked about the this hotel is how good they were at making reservations for me for activities... More

The best food on Moorea. Very friendly staff, owner on site and available. Free bicycles. Island tours offered. Coldest beer on the island ! Within walking distance of boutiques, grocery store, restaurants.

I thought air conditioning was a standard in warm climes at a certain price range. In fact, during my 2-1/2 month trip of the South Pacific, Australia and New Zealand this was the only hotel that did not offer it regularly to guests. It is true that I did not read the room description carefully. I had to pay $30... More

The bungalows are nice and cosy, some are sea facing. Sofia, at the reception, was extremely good. Besides the usual recommendations, she would give cost saving tips. Internet is charged and valid for the day (not 24 hrs basis or login based, just same day until 8 or 9 pm). Has a nice restaurant and great poisson cru. 5 minutes... More
