One of my most memorable weekends. Truly off the beaten track (don't be discouraged by the dodgy road or cost of hiring a taxi to take you there - it's worth it). Very beautiful, serene. Amazing french toast for brekky. Coffee was average but thaat was the least of our concerns. Not much in the way of a shops, local...

Excellent food and staff. Beautiful undisturbed coastline. Lovely fishing village next door for you to explore with your camera. I have traveled in 8 west african countries and this is by far the best overall experience I have had anywhere.

They really have got this place almost perfect...lovely rooms, excellent food and good service on a remote piece of sand. The only downside is the location, which really is not much fun to get to, particularly on a Sunday. I ended up on a trotro for an hour...and then had to walk for a half hour! But still...well worth it.

Pros: The rooms were above average (for backpacker), the vibe relaxed, the beach very long and large Cons: The water is too rough for swimming, most ingredients for drinks and some of the food were "finished" making for little selection, they didn't have any lounging chairs for reading, the road to get there is horrendous (on the way out, we...

This place is off the beaten track, the sealed road ends at Dixcove and from there on it's a bumpy dirt track. So it's a huge delight when you arrive. We had only 2 nights at the resort and loved it! It is an eco-resort that provides all you want. We had an en-suite hut for the first night which...

I have been to several Ghana beach resorts and have friends that frequent the Green Turtle so I knew what to expect. I loved this place b/c it has all the qualities of a beach resort that I think are so unique to Ghana - not over-done, not fake eco or fake rustic, not fake beachy...it's the real deal! I...

Just had amazing weekend at Green Turtle Lodge. Stunning beach. Fresh yummy and cheap cocktails and tasty bbq fish with fresh mango and avocado. Staffed entirely from local people who were fun and friendly. We stayed in pretty little self-contained hut right on beach. You could literally see coconut trees and the ocean from our four-poster bamboo bed. The lodge...

So here's the upside: The location is stunning. Truly stunning. And really romantic. Also on the plus side: The mosquito net was clean and intact, not necessarily a given when compared to other places but definitely a necessity in the area! The food that they served was fresh and tasty. But that was about the only things that were the...

I went on my own through a recommendation from my daughter's friend. I liked the idea of possibly seeing turtles hatch. As a long time camper, I am used to rugged conditions. However, my hut was a surprise. It was quite dusty, the sheets were stained and there was not hot water, not even tepid water. So, it was a...

We spent the November long weekend with two other families at Green Turtle Lodge. It is a long drive from Accra but so worth the effort as after an hour of listening to the waves crashing on the beach and a Star lager in hand the craziness of Accra was soon washed away! This is the perfect haven for kids,...
