My boyfriend and I booked 4 nights here and from the first night, we knew it was 3 too many! We arrived in Lanquin after an 11 hour journey to be rushed off the bus to get our pick up and as soon as everyone was together ready to go, the guy disappeared and we had to wait 30/40mins. Pro's:...

We camped riverside at Utopia for a week and it was paradise. The staff were very accommodating and had a lot of local knowledge about Semuc Champey, the caves, and how to get there. It's about 45 minutes walking and you can tube back along the river if you want, literally to your door step if you're camping! There is...

I stayed in one of their cabins. When we emailed they said that the cabins we emailed about were full, so they uphold us to another cabin. When we were there we were the only people in a cabin, everyone else was in the dorm. This made me feel duped from the beginning. The food is okay. The home made...

We had the best experience here, nothing negative to say. Couldn't recommend it enough. Great set up, views and staff. Everything clean. Have to buy all your meals there, but great food with a family evening dinner. All vegetarian. Good bar with happy hour. Great spot to go into the national park from and you can tube back from the...

I stayed here for four nights and really enjoyed my stay. The private nooks are comfortable and located in the main building, upstairs from the dining area and in the eves of the roof. The area outside the private nooks is the dorm, a big space and open, good air flow and of course a few bugs in the evening...

I would give this place five stars, if not for the expensive food. If you are on a more comfortable budget, say 40-50usd per person, then you'll love it! We, however, booked the hammocks and planned on splitting meals (which we've been doing for months) to save money, but it was just not possible to stay under budget without going...

Wonderful retreat. Middle of nowhere, but at the same time in the middle of everything. Shared dinner was good but not amazing. Definitely try the brownies One minor thing was the number of volunteers working there, one for over 2 years. Personally prefer to see more locals.

Utopia is right in the jungle, which means amazing wildlife, plants, trees (resembling those in the movie Avatar) and the resort. It also means getting there is not very easy, and involves standing like livestock in a pickup truck for 30 minutes from Lanquin, driving through jungle roads. Does it worth it? Absolutely. But come with the right mindset. The...

This hostel is located in a place most people would call paradise. I'm longing to the day when I will return. Great friendly staff and lovely atmosphere. Good common places where you interact with the other guests. I friended many backpackers. They serve vegetarian dinner. It's far from everything so be sure to have everything you need with you. Don't...
