I stayed here for a week with my kids. It's centrally located, Mel is very friendly and full of great information about the island. Lots of choices for rooms from dorm room to studio apartment. We felt safe and i highly recommend it.

This is a great place for the solo traveler, backpackers or budget conscious people. The property is beautiful and lovingly kept up by its charismatic and extremely helpful owner, Mel. Mel is Canadian so if your Spanish is limited she will be a great asset in planning your days on Roatan. She even dropped me off at the car rental...

Mel has created a warm and inviting home with villas and dorms for globetrotters. Everyone I met here has incredibly fascinating lives and travel adventures. Mel arranged my airport pickup, stopped at the supermarket on the way, and answered all my various questions. There's full kitchen shared with other guests and laundry service for a small cost. Best part is...

I stayed here for a week in November on my solo trip to Roatan. I spent most of my time diving in West End but found that the Hostel had everything I needed to have a good trip! The 6-person dorm had all of the shelving and space I needed, and I luckily had more than enough space to myself...

My friend and I went here and it has a great location. You can walk right out in sandy bay to snorkel. When you check in Mel will give you lots of local information about where to eat and how to get around. The pool is a great way to cool off. There are some board games to play and...

The rooms are basic but nice and well kept. There are individual fans for everyone in the dorm rooms. The pool is awesome, especially after a day in the ocean. Mel is really friendly and goes out of her way to make you feel welcome. She's full of knowledge and gives you tonnes of local tips. The kitchen was a...

Not only is Mel an amazing owner, and her kids are hilarious, but it just feels like a beautiful hidden garden. Not to mention, there is the lizard lounge at the top, where you have a beautiful view of the ocean in the distance during the day and the stars at night. If you need a place with an affordable...

The place is amazing and it has everything you need for your stay. Mel, the owner, is extremely friendly and helpful: she explained us how to get around on the island and gave us a really pretty handmade map with the best places and landmarks to visit. You have lots of common spaces to get to know other travelers like...

Stayed at Roatan Backpackers for about 3 weeks and did a little volunteering for Mel (the owner). I really enjoyed staying here as its a little quieter because it's a little out from the main tourist spot, but still close enough to get there within 10 minutes. Mel is very knowledgable about the Island and about the trips that you...
