Please understand that this is a charitable institution and not a hotel although they provide excellent facilities for the price they charge and is excellent if you are a north Indian visiting with parents. They have a lift so even a second or third floor room should not be a problem. They have both AC, Non-AC and dormitories. The charge for a AC room for three people (mattress for the third person) was Rs 800 with a 23 hr checkout policy. The rooms are also equipped with Tata Sky cable connection. The food is also very economical with an all you can eat (unlimited thali) for Rs 70. The food is homely and simple and will cater well to North Indian taste: Dal, two curries, phulka, papad, pickle and curd. It is barely 200 mtrs from the east gate of the temple. Auto from station will not drop you here as vehicles are not allowed on this road. So you will have to carry your luggage for about 100 mtrs from the auto stand.…
We booked this place via yatradham.org. One, you can not reach hotel with your vehicle and would need to haul or your luggage for good 200mitre or get fleeced by rickshaw pullers who would cash on the plight of exhausted travellers. Two, they offered us rooms dot opposite to men's toilet while we were traveling with female members. Linen was drinking, rooms were reeking of paint smell. And next best option they have is on 3rd floor which is not feasible for old parents. They have no lift. Place was dark and gloomy. And they refused to refund at all. We did not stay and booked to some other better place. PleSe keep in mind the temple gate in front of this place does not open so you have to anyway walk to east or west gate.
Good food in Rameswaram. Thali cost 80 rupees. Do not expect fancy food, simple marwari basa food. But hot roti and sabzi. Stay available and on normal dharamshala rate. Good for family. Cant bring personal vehicles there . Very near to agni tirth.
The room was a 4 bedded a/c for a very decent price right at the footstep of the temple. So location wise it was great for a very good price. the food was good -dharmik bhojan. Check a few rooms before deciding as we got the second choice of room and not the first one they showed as it was very bad
Well, this is just a good place to stay for a night or two in Rameshwaram with family as motives are not to enjoy in resorts at Rameshwaram. Rooms are small but clean, neat, beds are comfortable. They have AC and non AC rooms, rooms with 3-4 beds too, serves the purpose with family visit to a teertha. Canteen on ground floor is pretty decent, homely food at reasonable prices.
