We just finished a 2 week stay at Layana Resort. Would give 6* if possible Originally we had planned to stay only one week. After having moved to another hotel in the region we canceled the new hotel and returned to Layana (even though we did not get any refund for 4 days from the other hotel). Layana was worth it!! Why: + Very nice hotel with 3 infinity pools overlooking the sea + Whole hotel team with outstanding service orientation (reception, pool, restaurant, , room service, activities teams). Many team members have been working for Layana for 5-10 + years. Such a stable service team will be very hard to find at most other hotels. Returning guests felt like being with old friends. + Very nice room, spacious and clean bathroom with lots of amenities, comfortable bed, outstanding room service (after breakfast the room was always already back in perfect shape, daily turn down service every evening) + Extras: Complimentary pick up service at Krabi airport (van and/or speedboat if weather conditions allow), permanent high quality service at the pool and beach, twice a week relaxed live music in the evening, daily 2x2hr happy hour + Restaurant: Delicious breakfast buffet with western and Thai delicacies, during the day tasty meal & drink selection at the pool/beach, great a la carte dinner with daily theme specials. Tables overlooking the beach, tasty drink and wine selection at reasonable prices. + Activities: Professionally equipped gym, nice spa, free bicycles, hobie cat sailing, kayak, SUP, skimboards. Choose from different tour options (extra costs will apply) e.g. snorkeling, sundowner boat trips,… + Sunsets overlooking the beach are priceless We will be glad to return to Layana - by the way as many others do. We met many guests who have stayed at Layana 5-10-15 times. That is a strong sign of long term superior quality…

We are sadly, just leaving Layana and the lovely team, after an exceptional 10 days. Having traveled Asia and expecting good service the team at Layana on Koh Lanta have been wonderful, exceeding the normal high standards we have come to expect. The hotel is immaculate, a sure sign that staff are well motivated and well managed. It is good to see the General Manager Franck everywhere in the resort. The standard of this hotel and the lovely staff does credit to his approach. This is in my view a select boutique hotel with no children and very friendly guests, many who have returned a number of times. (As we hope to do ) My wife has serious food allergies. The head chef Wilfred met us on the first day and assured us he would let the team know . Everyone even at the bar ( non-spiced nuts for Dee) were great and we had a restful holiday as a result . Wilfred was about for almost all the meals and arranged some special variations of dishes. Food was excellent and we ate there most evenings by choice Thanks again to the wonderful Chef and the restaurant team. The two large swimming pools were excellent and plenty of sun lounger’s and shades for all residents. The upper pool near our room was very quiet which we loved. Pool service was only a button press away. As for the beach facilities they were excellent . The sand was swept every day and looked amazing . Sundown was spectacular and really comfortable. Seating for friends close to the bar and restaurant meant really fantastic service whilst watching amazing sunsets A must is the beautiful Thai dancing every Saturday after sunset, and then the spectacular fire act that follows. We had several spa visits and again the high standard of staff and professionalism was some of the best we have encountered ( especially Wey, who has been there for 6+ years and it showed.)I asked her for all my massages as they were so good at tackling the knots after travelling . The boat excursions are a must. Against all staff knew of the food restrictions and made the trips so much fun. We would thoroughly recommend Layana Spa to all our friends.…

Layana resort is like heaven. The property is so peaceful, the pools are incredible and the whole place feels like you are walking on a cloud. The restaurant with the water is beautiful and the food is really good, especially the breakfast- fresh fruits, juices, smoothies, full meals, it is amazing. Would definitely recommend staying here if you are looking for a relaxing peaceful stay. The beach in front of the resort is beautiful with a white sand beach and the sun sets in front of the hotel every day- absolutely gorgeous. The staff is also very accommodating and helpful- they helped me arrange transport to and from my next location and answered all my questions. Can not recommend this place enough!

Just stayed at the Layana for first time and from the moment you arrive until the moment you leave, you are made to feel special. Everything was perfect, couldn’t find fault in any way. The staff go out of there way to make your stay here a memorable experience. Have to mention Tour at reception for her help with everything, Siri for her great service and smiles in the bar and restaurant and Gae for her service and great sense of humour, she really is a lovely person. Last but not least, Frank the manager, always available for a chat and a bit of advice. Thank you all again and we hope to visit again soon.

Layana Resort and Spa is in a lovely location beach wise in Koh Lanta. The accommodation and grounds are all very well kept. We had an ocean villa that has been refurbished to a good standard. As we understand it the beach villas are due to have the same treatment over the coming months. The staff at Layana are excellent, very friendly and passionate about what they do for you on a daily basis and for us is the key element of the resort. Food at the resort is excellent as well although the breakfast could be a bit more imaginative. Drinks apart from Happy Hour are quite expensive and for that reason a lovely bar and patio area remains little used outside of that time. Staff recommendation All of them from the cleaners, gardeners, pool and beach personnel, waiting and bar staff, transfer staff etc. etc. If you could tell us one thing we might have done to make your overall experience even better, what would that be? Due to an unpleasant incident we viewed at breakfast one morning over table allocation I would suggest maybe a sign saying ‘wait to be seated’ be posted in order there can be no confusion where someone is sitting.…

We cannot fault this amazing resort: we have never experienced staff so attentive and friendly in 40 years of world travel, they are outstanding. This is a World-class resort to lay your head; nothing disappoints…the beach is the best where you’ll be served cold water and fruit as you lay in the sun. Breakfast is varied, fresh and plentiful. Our room (Beach 3) with its terrace looked out to sea and is a few steps away from the beach. The room is large enough with everything you’re likely to need. The outdoor shower was special. The AC was quiet and effective. We fell in love with Layana pure and simple and we’ve already rebooked for next year…why continue searching for the perfect place to enjoy life when you’ve found it right here in Layana.

This was our first visit to the Layana Resort, I had read some excellent reviews of the resort and this was a major factor in choosing this hotel. The Layana exceeded our expectations in all aspects. We enjoyed breakfast, lunch and dinner on various days during our 8 night stay, all meals were of outstanding quality. We expect to pay the hotel a return visit in the not too far future.
