The hotel runs out of water on a daily basis and the owner keeps saying it’s to do with the water from the mountains.. strange that none of the local businesses seem effected and a local Thai told me they preserve the water so you may see the supply cut off - which I did on every night of my 3 night stop. The electric also went off twice, I could go on. All I would say is AVOID. You can get cheaper hotels and lot better
This hostel gives you a bed and a bathroom. You don't need more on the island, so that's fine. Cleanliness could be better, but it's not filthy. Price is okay considering the average prices on the island.
This hotel had the most luxurious furniture I've seen in a hotel room. Nicely hand carved wood armoire and bed. Nice bathroom too. The hotel is sorta halfway between the two sides of the island so both waterfront are within easy access.
The music at night is so loud you can't sleep through it. It lasts until 3am every night. We told the staff in the morning and they denied they had a music problem, the next day they said it's the roof top bar. You can also hear people talking or drunk people screaming from the other rooms even though there was no one in the rooms either side to us. Throughout the night our electricity kept going off. There is no one at reception from 7pm to help. There was a room free furthers from the noise but they would not let us move to it because someone who hadn't checked in yet had booked a room. It was exactly the same as ours. We asked if we could move to the dorm and get the money difference but this was not allowed. Never experienced this anywhere else. We had originally booked for 5 nights but we couldn't stand the noise and the problems so asked if we could stay for 3 nights and have the 2 others refunded. The staff would not let us talk to the manager they just kept saying I am not allowed to refund only boss only boss. But every time she "called" the boss he conveniently didn't answer. Even more helpful the boss lives on Phuket and does not visit Phi Phi. Staff were beyond unhelpful and rude. Ended up leaving early with losing money. …
Looking at other reviews we thought this Guest house might end up being a nightmare but when arriving and being shown to our room we were pleasantly surprised. The reception service was good and helpful as our safe didn't work but she was happy to help and fix the issue. Towels are given and even free soap in the bathroom. The price we paid for each night wasn't bad especially for an island as I'm sure there are much worser places than here just don't expect any luxury but a comfortable sleep. I can imagine coming here in the height of the season you could experience some horror stories especially in the bunks but I'm sure things happen everywhere on the island considering how small it is. We would stay again if we came back.
The place is an easy walk from the ferry pier. It was clean upon arrival and the lady at the desk was nice. The bathroom was okay too. Overall the hostel its self was an okay place. Except it was so noisy!!!! You can hear music and people talking outside late into the night (like 3am). My experience in particular was terrible because I got no sleep and was surprised at 4am to a drunk guy peeing all over my backpack. Needless to say I was extremely upset and so were his friends who ended up fighting and screaming at each other. A complete disaster, and no one was at the desk (no security etc.) to help deal with the situation. Anyways, maybe you'll have a better experience. Good luck! I won't be back!
