You arrive and it feels like paradise within minutes. The beach has beautiful white sands and emerald waters. We booked a beachfront bungalow for 3 nights and stayed 7. It's not the quietest at night with the waves crashing, so take earplugs Staff are friendly, Tong is a credit to the resort and also the young man who works so hard around the resort with a smile all day. Accomodation is rustic and basic but the views and location outway any Negatives. If you wish peace and quiet away from the madness, authentic food and a return to sanity book Tokho resort

We are a family consisting of mom and dad and 3 kids (4,6 and 13) We had booked 3 nights in the Benjamin bungalow. We ended up extending our stay with 3 more nights cause this Place is amazing. The kids enjoyed the sometimes primitive lifestyle and they adjusted to the Place really fast. We REALLY enjoyed our stay and would recommend this to everyone. The staff and the host couple was so friendly and kind so we would love to come back next year!!

We have just had 3 fantastic days at this resort. Looking at reviews we were half & half but it's been such a good experience. If your looking for a quite place to chill & do nothing this is the place for you . We arrived to very friendly / family run staff. We had our 1st night in bamboo bungalow which we loved . No insects or bugs ( was expecting this ) was perfect loved it . Next 2 nights in hill side bungalow. Which is very basic and no hot water but we new this from reviews. It wasn't a problem at all. Was just nice to chill & live a bit of how locals live ! It's ideal for families there were children there playing care free all day. Food was good but there is only 1 place to eat. Just what we needed to switch off from outside world . Would highly recommend this Place & will return . Bust the view point to phi phi view 5/5 😋

You have to be honest about Tohko. It is simple. Let's start with the positive. It is the most wonderful quiet, feels like private, beautiful beach with pristine corals and amazing fish right at your door step. The food is best we had in all our travels - Tong's mother does them all proud there. I also had a fabulous massage. And the people we met there and playing pool with Tong, are all fabulous. We chose this accommodation bc we wanted to get away from crowds and frankly it is what we could afford. It isn't necessarily clean - and Tong working on his boats means that there is a work area that you have to walk through. It aint fancy. If we had to do it again, we would stay there again, but pick one of his nicer bungalows with AC. The no hot water we could live with (my daughter not so much) but the swelter of the room (have to keep it shut to keep out the mosquitoes) was too much. This place has very mixed reviews because it depends on what you want and what bothers you. We do a lot of camping if you think of this place more as Glamping - high level camping - you will be in a better mindset. You are really in the jungle and we shared space with monkeys, countless crabs, millipedes, birds, fish, and butterflies. Tong is a great guy. I think the kind of people that like this place are our favorite types - salt of the earth. Somehow even with the discomforts each complained of, all of our favorite moments from our month long tour of Thailand and Vietnam, happened at this place. We were at pristine 4 star places with not a blade of grass out of place where we were miserable. Tohko Beach has a great vibe and is run by a wonderful family in a small quiet corner of paradise.

We stayed here 13th & 14th January! Very worried after reading the negative reviews. However if you are wanting 5 star luxury this would not be the place for you. If you want a peaceful, beautiful setting almost feels like your own private beach, a read of a book sipping a nice cocktail, this would be perfect. Thong looked after us as if we we’re friends, the owner a lady also. Could not have felt more welcomed. We stayed in the bamboo bungalows expecting the occasional creepy crawlie being in the jungle, we saw a few ants a gecko and apart from that we had the most amazing Robinson Crusoe experience. The mosquito net had NO holes in, we had electricity throughout our stay and enjoyed some of the most amazing food sat on the beach in an evening. Waking up to watch the sunrise on both days with the sound of the waves and views of the sea was spectacular. Would we go again? Definitely!!!! This is a great place with a great ambience. We was worried about leaving valuables in our beach hut but very quickly realised what a safe secure environment we were in. Thank you to all at Tohko Beach!!!

This place makes you feel great and relaxed, while the staff/owners make you feel wonderful and welcoming. Food was beautiful and after spending the day at the private beach you can go have an indulging message. With love from Malta!

Recently spent two nights at Tohko Beach Resort and left with very fond memories. It's important to note that if you're looking for a five star resort that's full of modern amenities, this may not be the right place for you. However, if you're looking for a place that offers a relaxing environment that feels like you're on a private beach with access to great food served by exceptionally freindly staff, then Tohko Beach will fulfill your needs. There was no air conditioning in my cabin, but electricity was available all day. I even had WiFi all day in my cabin. I was able to sleep with my patio door wide open all night thanks to a bug net over the bed. I truly enjoyed my stay and would definitely return to Tohko if I was visiting the area again. What an awesome place to relax and recharge!

Nice hotel right on a private beach, no electricity in the day and no air con in rooms just a little fan that didn’t work. The only way to get to or from the hotel is by unreliable boats. We asked in the morning to see if we could go to the pier on the 12:40 boat and they said it would be fine. At 12:40 they said the boat was coming at 13:30, at 13:45 they said it would be 20 minutes, it eventually turned up at 14:30 but they didn’t even apologise. When we got to the pier the boat driver said for us to wait on the pier at 17:00 to go back to the hotel. At 17:30 the guy on the pier holding the hotel sign called the hotel for us to see when the boat was and they told us there was no boat coming so we had to pay over double the price to get a taxi boat back. When we complained to the staff they told us we had misunderstood and offered no apology.

There is no power from 6 am to 6 pm which means the hottest part of the day - there is nothing. Be warned, although they advertise units with AC (and all of the units have an AC attached) they have disabled them. We were warned, however, not to open the windows because of the mosquitos. This means each unit is a hot box, literally hits you in the face when you open the door. Our "room with fan" had a small standing fan in one corner of the room, I don't think this would have done much. And the mosquito netting had huge rips in it...

Really bad hotel - agree with most of the recent negative reviews of this place. We booked for a quiet relaxing stay, away from the crowds at ton sai. Unfortunately, they've opened a new bar with massive speakers which they used to play euro house music loudly throughout dinner. They wouldn't turn it down when asked To top it off, they then introduced three young Gogo dancers who put on a show for the guests - awful.
