The actual rooms are well equipped and comfortable. We booked a superior room. The resort is unique in its feeling of remoteness. The beaches close by are beautiful and unspoilt. However, you need to be prepared for a bit of trekking to town and Long Beach. Boat taxis and boat tours pick up at a neighbouring bay.. Some of our party booked the upgraded chalets, well worth it for that extra bit of luxury and the magnificent views. Overall an experience not to be missed. The staff at the resort were attentive and helpful in all aspects.
Stayed in the villa on the first floor. The size of the bathroom was the same as the room and it is beautifully done. One of the best places I’ve ever stayed. Don’t be put off by slight mess outside the bungalows. Don’t be tight and get the Villa, you won’t regret it.
We stayed in a tree hut, surrounded by trees, where you could just lay on your hammock listening to the sound of the beach and the jungle animals (we even had a monkey come visit). As it is located on a semi secluded area of the island, you have to take a long tail boat to get there or else you can hike for about 30-40 minutes to reach it. Even once you are there, there are a lot of stairs so full mobility is required. Be careful of the rocks though, I had a nasty accident but the amazing staff took great care of me. I highly recommend staying here!
This is my second time to Viking, I absolutely loved this place. I do think the rooms are beautiful and the staff I met were all lovely. I would love to give this hotel a 5 star like I did last time. However, we had checked out of our room. I throughly inspected my room and my friends room before leaving, they check the room too before we checked out, gave us the deposit back and away we went. We were seated on the speed boat ready to leave for our next destination when a man from the resort came onto the boat, showed us our passport photos and insisted we broke the phone in the hotel and that we owed them 1000bath. I tried to explain to him and the person that was on the phone too that we had checked the rooms and the hotel staff also did before we left and everything was fine. Mind you I used the phone to call reception to collect our bags… so I know it wasn’t broken. He then pointed at me and said I broke it and was yelling in thai and said 500 for me and 500 for my friend (staying in the other room) … which didn’t add up because we were in different rooms and one phone was “broken”. He threatened to take me off the boat to the police and jail…. And said get out you’re money now and pay me 1000bath. My partner just paid them money because we would have had to pay for another boat home. I feel scammed…. Upset… We tipped the staff everyday and even used the hotel long boat for our day trip which was twice as expensive just to support the hotel. I will never be back and will never recommend anyone to stay here again.…
Arriving by longtail, seeing the resort from a distance by sea, small huts in the forest, and there it is, the front desk hiding behind the trees just at the beach. A view that you just see in the movies, but it is for real. This place is so fantastic. A little piece of paradise. Our room 4A just abowe the beach, just so perfect. I`we been spending hours in the hammoc on the balcony, Listening to the sound of the sea. Staff is exellent, all of them just want you to feal relaxed, and, they know who you are and where you are staying. I really likes that. Food in restaurant, cheap and tasty, No need to eat elsewhere. The whole resort is just such a unique and special place, and I am so glad that i booked this kind a remote place from the main area. It`s just a short walk along the beach. Ok, if you are afraid of dark, and what`s hiding in the bushes this is not the place for you. But a part from that, really no issue the short walking to main area of the island. Thank you to all of you that are working here. You made our stay fantastic. …
Stayed here for six nights and really enjoyed the beautiful property, gorgeous room and sea views. Very friendly and helpful staff. Food was basic but good (among the better places to eat on the island). Breakfast options numerous. Keep in mind the location is a 20 minute easy walk to town along a well marked path by the sea. The out of town location makes this serene and peaceful. The resort is also just next to the gorgeous Long Beach which is a nice place to walk and relax.
Excellent private beach, great rooms, excellent staff, great views, good food, recommended for couples, best place for scuba diving, approach by boat, once in a lifetime experience, clear water Recomended for everyone, do bribg your own food if you are vegetarian or vegan, recomended to carry some water and snacks as hotel provides limited service post 10 pm
This is actually an enormous resort, but the way it has been built feels very private and small. We stayed 3 nights, 2 nights in a more private bungalow which had beautiful art, amazing views, super spacious with a great bathroom but no aircon, we managed with the fans though. We spent the last night in a larger condo style unit, with aircon, enormous shower room, but less private. The staff are great, the food at the restaurant was ok, and the little private beach was magnificent. Loads of gorgeous cats on the property, which they will hopefully get sterilised.
We stayed here for 3 nights, This hotel is simply paradise. The hotel itself is situated right on its own private beach, you reach the hotel via a long rail boat from tonsia beach, the hotel kindly arrange this in their own boat. Upon arrival the staff moved our luggage from the boat to our room and again at checkout. Positives Located on a private beach - crystal clear waters Rooms & beds, bath rooms and air con worked fab Drinking water supplies Torches supplied Breakfast was good and improved, seemingly from trip advisor reviews so it does work All staff were amazing Things to reflect on You walk on sand everywhere - it’s located on the beach mind Not suitable for pushchairs or mobility problems - all rooms use steps 25 min walk from town, via the beach and path (this didn’t bother us) Mosquitos - just close your room doors In summary this is paradise - no other words for it…
As the name says it is nature resort. The rooms are built within the forest with natural walkways and wooden architecture. You will feel as if you are in a forest. I stayed there for 8 nights and loved the entire experience. It is a 25 minute walk to the main town or you can take a taxi boat from the resort for thb 100. Check in and check out transfers are free.
