Complete waste of time and money. Everything is over priced in this tourist trap... As soon as we arrived a 20bhat fee for entering the island? Which isn't advertised at all even on the boat over to the island. It's a beautiful island that has been completely ruined by westerners (I'm English) it's basically Benidorm island full of "booze crews"...

Initially we planed to go to Mama beach resort which IMO is the best 3 star hotel on the island but as there we no rooms available we book the neighbor hotel Popular Beach Resort. The resort is a small business run by a local family. We stayed in room no.9 in one of the bungalows next to the reception....

This place is Heaven and that can't be said for many places on Phi Phi, we had the room nearest the reception no6, it was massive with a large comfy bed and a large bathroom, five steps from the room is your own virtually private beach with free sunbeds, as this is the last place before the cliffs there are...

When I first inquired they told me 3000 baht a night, then after deliberation we booked (with a different receptionist) and he told me 3500... which is frustrating that everyone tries to take advantage. However, the place is literally on the waters edge (and the at the end of the beach). This side of Phi Phi has no night scene,...

We stayed at room number 9 which has a larger shower than the other rooms and it was a very nice experience . The rooms are right on the beach ( the better beach near the ferry) and located next to a cliff. Amazing view, new aircon, hot shower and very comfortable bed! Location was great for us but could...

Stayed here for 5 nights in Aug 13. First the location, a 5 minute walk from the dock. It is the last resort so no people are 'passing through', quiet, away from the noise at night, right under some stunning cliffs. Perfect. The water in front of the accommodation does have a fair few boats moored but it doesn't ruin...

The positives: the resort is situated right on the beach in a quiet location and is within walking distance to some great beach bars, restaurants and the marketplace. The staff are reasonably friendly. The negatives: firstly, the beach bungalow I stayed in was directly above reception (could hear all the noise from below including a toddler that kept crying and...

Location right at the end of tonsay bay, many boats in front. Rooms have good view and look nice. We had some troubles with the monkeys, they love to hang around the bungalows and one attacked my wife... But the rest was fine, very friendly service. Breakfast: you have to try the french toast!

Had a great time on Phi Phi and a warm welcome from the staff at popular, we had the last room on the left, and a bunch of cheeky Monkeys for company, got some fantastic close up film of the families playing on our veranda, the service was great, and the hotel put on a fantastic barbeque on the beach...
