My friends and I decided to spend last 2 nights of our vacation in Thailand in Phi Phi island. We were excited to stay at this hotel after seeing very nice photos online. But it was a total letdown. The hotel is in urgent need of a refurbishment. Everything is old and tatty. The linen on our bed was dusty, possibly we were in a room that had not been occupied for a long time. The bathroom was dirty, we had to wear our slippers when showering. The only nice thing about this hotel was the beach that is literally in front of the hotel. Upon arrival we decided to eat at their restaurant. The food there is average but very expensive. We paid 80baht for a can of coke! Please do not eat at the hotel, there are far more affordable restaurants at the Pier that offers better quality food. The swimming pool is beautiful but has a lousy pool bar.Having seen other pool bars in Phuket, this was disappointing. My compliments goes to the staff, they were really friendly. Especially the ladies who organized our day tours. …
Plus: We had a room with partial sea view and it was really nice. The breakfast (buffet) was very good and diverse. They waited for us with a longtail boat at the pier (we arrived by ferry) and they transferred our luggage to our house. Close to a small beach which is nicer in my opinion than the crowded Long Beach. Minus: It's noisy because of all the boats that transit the sea right in front of the resort from the first hour of the day to midnight.. I had to wear earplugs. We had ..... lizards (gecko I guess) in our room in every day of out stay. In one night at 1 am I was trying to catch a big one because my wife was afraid of them. A very strange and powerful noise came from the roof. This noise was scary even for me and it repeated every day(and night) of our stay. I told this situation at the reception and the answer was absolutely hilarious: it was the air conditioning ?!!?!?!?. To resume: they did nothing. The air condition unit was loud. Humidity The towels and the bed sheets were clean but their color was close to yellow. Price…
I have just returned from this resort, following a four night stay with friends. We stayed in rooms B403 and B404, right at the back of the resort up a very steep hill. The rooms were extremely disappointing, old, tired and generally not clean either. Towels were taken and not replaced, water in tap and toilet brown, furniture tired, stains to walls in shower and paint peeling off in the bathroom. We have stayed here three times before and never had a problem. It was a very sad sight when we took our friends to show them beautiful Phi Phi. We were charged £72 per night by Agoda, so were expecting a decent standard of accommodation, which this was not. The resort is in a beautiful location, but generally falling into disrepair. The breakfast area was dirty, with stains all over the floor which remained for the duration of our stay.…
I really feel that I need to address some of the negative comments on here as our stay at the Bayview has been nothing short of excellent. We booked 11 nights in a Deluxe Villa Sea View which worked out £100(ish) a night and whether it is because we went for a higher rate room that we have had no complaints at all. I was reading the reviews worried about what we would find and yet it has been a fantastic stay. To try and offer reassurance I’ll give feedback on the main issues people are talking about. Our room was really clean, the bed sheets were changed regularly and fresh towels. We had no issues getting beach towels which again were clean. So the bathroom was a bit tired but it’s a functional room that you get in, do your business, get out! The shower was powerful with plenty of hot water and you came out feeling clean and refreshed. Yes the toilet water is brown however I don’t spend my time looking down the toilet so why should this be an issue?! The hotel provided lots of free drinking water so we brushed our teeth using that, again not a problem. There is nothing wrong with the pool. I was expecting a horror scene but it was quite the contrast. Yes the water colour was not crystal blue but it was clean and I was happy to have a dip. There might have been the odd leaf floating around but it’s in the middle of a hillside full of trees and vegetation so that’s going to happen and there was a guy fishing out the debris regularly anyway. The location is in the hillside which is the charm of the bungalows with sea views to die for. The area was quiet yet only a short walk away from bars and restaurants so for me it was perfect. Animal wise, you have to realise that you are in a forest location so yes, animals live in the undergrowth. To sit on my balcony and hear the rustle in the leaves below and see a massive lizard having a mooch around was just amazing! We had two of the tiniest lizards having a walk around our bedroom ceiling causing no harm, probably enjoying the air con! Wifi was excellent, the TV had hundreds of stations and access to Netflix too. Mini-bar was reasonably priced and replenished daily. Breakfast was more than satisfactory. Staff were polite, courteous and smiling. There was a minor blip at check out where the card machine was not working and it wasn’t until another customer tried to pay with their card and the machine still didn’t work that the receptionist believed it was a problem their end, not ours! It was sorted relatively painlessly (thank goodness for the other guest proving the machine was at fault!) Hopefully my photos will offer reassurance it’s not the awful place that others are saying. Thank you Bayview for an amazing holiday, see you next year! …
I stayed here over christmas last year. The rooms are nice and spacious. They were clean. The resort is right on the beach, but also up on the hill side. There are rooms quite up on the hill as well. The hotel offers a free golf cart service to take you back and forth to the rooms, which was nice. They also gave out gift cakes for guests on christmas day. That was a nice touch. They have a longboat that picks you up from the pier, and make sure you wear shorts and flip flops, because your jumping out of the longboat into the ocean to get to the check in. I was in jeans, but oh well I got wet. its about a 12-14 minute walk to the town which was nice. nice walk along the beach to get there.
