First of all when i checked in the staff was very unorganized. I paid cash for the room and for the next three days paid, every thing is hand written and a receipt was given. Well, since I was returning home and did not think i needed my receipts I threw them out. The next day and 1 1/2 hour after I checked out I was approached by hotel staff who said I did not pay for the first day, first of all I know I paid, but since no-one wrote it down they said it was a no pay. I was forced to pay again because I was at the mercy of the hotel's long boat to take me back to catch the ferry home. HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE customer service!

This is a great place to stay. The family who own it are helpful, the views from the restaurant are incredible and it is quiet & relaxing around the bungalows. A on reception is good for advice on what there is to do & see and we loved the long tail boat rides home after an evening out on Ton Sai. Also Long Beach at sunset is probably one of the worlds finest.

It has almost been a year since I stayed here, I regret not writing one earlier. My Boyfriend and I spent a month in Thailand and when in Phi Phi we stayed here. This place was amazing. We literally lost track of time and had to book an extra night and then we did that again. They where very accommodating with us for our double mistake. The food was good and it was nice being away from the craziness. I would highly recommend this place, I think about it every day.

I'm writing this review because we found the people who worked here, although not overly friendly, were the most honest and caring strangers I came across on our trip. I foolishly left a significant amount of money hiding in our room when we left for the mainland. Of course I did not discover it until we were in Krabi town and I panicked. With really no other options, not enough time to go back, I called Phi Phi Hill Resort to see if they found my money. Now, of course the fear was that they would say "What money? We don't see anything." and then keep the cash for themselves. Instead, they not only found it, they said so, and also offered to 'wire' it to a friend in Krabi where I could go pick it up! Amazing! Helpful and honest. Totally reaffirmed my faith in humanity! Thank you!

I am here now - 24/12/15. Phi Phi Hill is closed. You can't walk up the steps. It looks like either a major refurb or it's being developed as a high end resort. Either way, this is the end of backpacker-type affordable accommodation on Long Beach. Sad, but inevitable, I think. We're in Phi Phi Paradise (21-29/12/15) and are paying 4,500 (@ £90 - yep 90 quid) per night for a quite nice (superior room) with an extra bed for my 3 year old daughter. This is reasonable money for a hotel in England, never mind Thailand. But we're on Long Beach, Phi Phi - and we're paying for the beach, the sea and the view - which are and have been since I first came here in 1992, quite magnificent!

We spent 3 nights here and had a great stay. The location is excellent as long as you do not mind climbing a few stairs. Views are stunning, rooms are clean and spacious and staff are friendly. Food is the cheapest on long beach so would recommend.

We will give this place a point for the views but everything else was beyond bad. It's located very far from the main pier and count an 1 hr jungle hike or 100THB per person boat taxi to get there (150 at night). The rooms were infested with bugs and we didn't sleep the two nights. Also the bathroom was very dirty. We felt like we were taking part in the Survivor show! The most disappointing part though was the staff - they were like zombies and never cracked a smile or offered any help. Certainly not qualified to work at a 'resort'. We are definitely not going back and we don't recommend it either.

I really wanted to love this place, but was extremely disappointed and we stayed in much nicer hotels for the same price. We weren’t put off by the stairs as some people have complained of (what do you expect if it’s called Hill Resort!) and there was a lift for the luggage. The views from the restaurant were spectacular and you can watch the sunset on one side and the sunrise from the other side. We had a very tasty lunch on arrival and breakfast (included) was nice too but I think it might have killed our waiter to smile or take our order with an ounce of willingness. The actual accommodation was in my opinion was poor. The mosquito nets were patched up with duct tape and I’m unconvinced all the gaps were sealed. The bathroom was pretty tiny and the shower was a pathetic dribble. The bed has to be the most uncomfortable I’ve ever slept on, the mattress was rock solid you could feel the think plastic cover through the sheet and there was a thick scratchy blanket. The Beach is lovely, reached by longboat for 100B from Tonsai, and there is really enjoyable snorkelling too (most of the hotels rent out masks and snorkels). My advice to you, go up there for the views and the food but there are other hotels along the Long beach which look ten times better and we moved after the two nights we’d already paid for to The Phi Phi Long Beach Resort @ Villa where the service and the room were infinitely better.

My girlfriend and I stayed at the phi phi hill for 3 nights, apart from the views and the lady at reception the 3 nights were terrible. Firstly the staff especially in the restaurant were extremely rude and would rather watch tv than serve their customers. If you go into Ton sai you have to leave by 12am because the boats finish at 12 to bring you back, If we had known that we would never have booked. We stayed in a sunrise bungalow which were quite isolated from the rest of the resort but quiet they are not, Lots of noise from the passing boats. The bungalows are way overpriced for what you get. The bathroom was dirty, full of ants and the odd lizard. Only one socket in the room. I definitely won't be back!
