We were there during Covid. The view is great, the rooms simple but tasteful and spotlessly clean. We had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Long Beach is a great beach (one of the best l have seen in Thailand, and l have seen many), although there are some sandflies. This can happen in lots of beaches in Thailand. Use coconut oil on your feet and legs to prevent the bites and before you go get some antihistaminic tablets and a cream with corticosteroids like Betamethasone. Read the contraindications first. This is a precaution, please don't be put off! You can snorkel off the beach and go kayaking, it's very sheltered. At Hip they do breakfast and meals, both much better than expected. If you want a change you can always go to The Beach Resort below, which is also open and if you have a meal/drinks you can use their beach chairs. Friendly cats around, a plus for me. You can get everywhere by longtail boat. Even better than the view at Hip is the wonderful staff! They speak good English too. They arranged two boat trips for us. Do the longtail trip to Phi Phi Leh, the views and the snorkelling are fantastic. Maya bay is closed, but you can see it from the boat and snorkel right there. Steps: yes, about 5 flights maybe, but very gradual and you can stop along the way to enjoythe views! Would l stay at Hip again? Definitely. Thanks again to the staff, worth their weight in gold!…
So, we did arrive here during Covid time. Where many hotels are closed, Hip Sea View was open. The lovely staff was very helpful and try to make us very comfortable. Room was basic, but good. We loved the view! Breakfast was basic, but cooked when you wanted it. They have a foodlist for lunch and dinner. Freshly cooked Thai dishes and some pizza. Price is low for Phi Phi. Beer was 50 baht. We did a day trip (1.500baht), a Cano trip (free) and some snorkling. Did I already say the staff was very friendly?
What an amazing hotel!! THANK YOU SO MUCH 🙏🏻 The hotel located up on the hill at Long Beach area as you can see from the first photo. This hotel close to the beach the nearest one just walk down from the resort you will see a beautiful beach it's called Long Beach and Shark point for who loves snorkeling, There is another beach just only 5 mins from resort it's called Loh Moo Dee Beach this is the best place to snorkeling as the water so clear and the current of the water it's very stable. (it depends on the weather) Staff were outstanding 10/10 👍🏻 The room was beautiful and very comfortable. I would highly recommended this amazing place!!
The biggest positive of our 2 night stay was the hotel's position, commanding outstanding views from its cliff top position. There's a nice bar here and all the staff were very friendly. A lot of information is provided verbally at check-in but some was a bit confusing and unfortunately nothing is written down in the room. So it took us a while to work out that the only complimentary long boat trips to / from the quay, were on arrival and departure. This quickly pushes up the cost because there is very little to do at the hotel (and no pool), there was no clear information on a local beach which can be accessed and unless you want a long hot walk scrabbling over rocks, you need to take taxi boats to the town (100 THB each or 150 THB in evening). This combined with the fact that food and drink at the hotel is quite expensive, made us feel a bit "trapped". The access to the hotel is up a lot of steep steps but bags are taken in a box on a pulley. The room was OK - clean and with a comfortable bed - but pretty basic for what we paid. Breakfast was nice - freshly cooked to order from a tick-list menu (but my order was slightly wrong on both mornings). We found the hotel expensive for what we got compared with other places on our travels, but - in part at least - this may have reflected prices on Ko Phi Phi. So, overall unless you want total relaxation, doing very little, and / or are prepared to pay the rates for taxi boats and food / drinks at the hotel, there are probably better options.…
What a lovely, friendly place to stay. I stayed for 4 nights in a group of six and the staff couldn’t do enough for us . The cabins are clean and spacious. The bar terrace/ dining room has the most amazing panoramic views over the sea. We were met on our arrival but a group of monkeys. The beach is stunning with lovely bars and eateries along it. I would have loved to have stayed longer and would highly recommend to anyone thinking of going to the phi phi islands.
