Moved to Tanote family bay for few days, at the begining i thought it's the perfect place: beautiful simple bungalows on the bay, great beach and quite atmoshpere. What i wasn't expecting was the worst service you can dream of. And it's just the waiter that doesn't give a care if you need something or even just smile and say...

I love camping and I love roughing it - but I have to draw the line somewhere. I tried to find the charm in this place and appreciate the Mighty Mouse trash can or the weird bathroom mat with a big eared dog picture ... it just never happened. Most of these comments have to do with the quality of...

I arrived at Tanote bay and directly booked three nights at "Family Tanote Bay". I didn't have enough cash for the three nights, so the hotel manager allowed me to pay later when I have the chance to get to an ATM. This is the only nice thing I can say about the service. I was traveling alone and backpacking...

Great location on Tanote bay... Rather simple rooms ... Not for those searching for comforts ... Nice hammocks on each room veranda and perfect view. Restaurant is simple and decent value. If you wish your room to be cleaned daily you have to ask for it. Two dive ships on the same beach. Taxi service to Mae Had for 100...

Had bungalow no. 14 for 800 baht a day (high season) Overall very clean although they don't clean the rooms during your stay - pretty sure they do nowhere if you rent a bungalow. Disagree with previous reviews on the service. Very nice young staff who play the guitar in the evening. Sure they sit around if there is nothing...

We went to saree beach first and was disgusted by the sewage and hoards of backpackers. In low season, we were charged 600 bht instead of 800. The room had a fan and balcony- basic but adequate. Food was a bit dodgy, both my wife and I got food positioning from here. The bay and snorkelling was amazing, beautiful!! The...

Tanote family Bay is locates on one of the most beautiful spots in Thailand, but the accomodation is horrific! It's all about earning your Bahts, not about customerservice. My room was never cleaned, I didn't have toiletpaper, my bed was dirty and had bugs :(, the reception wouldn't help me plan for my next trip, the restaurant was dirty and...

found the Tanote Family Bay Resort over the Calypso DiveBase situated on the Beach nearby, where greeted by friendly Staff and brought to a clean bungalow, and enjoyed our meals (although they are a bit more expensive, but my opinion tastier than others on the beach) in the Tanote Restaurant. Stayed in a Bungalow with Fan, and an awsome view from...

On Kho Tao we spent three nights at Family Tanote Bay. The bungalows are situated on the rocks in one corner of the bay, where you have a nice view on the beach and the sea. The bungalow is with 1500.- BATH per night very expensive. There is no room service in this price included and for toilet paper you...

“All the bungalows are different. Theres lots of steps so if you dont want to hike up alot of steps, you can always ask for a room close to the beach. There is bungalows right on the beach. I was halfway up the hill and I had a total knee replacement. When I made it to my sundeck, it was always worth it. I didnt need AC. I had a great fan and the seabreeze blew right through my room. The bungalows are nice. It is Thailand. I recommend reading a short blurb or two on Thai and Burmese people, there customs. There very easy going people. Unfortunately for them that work in the tourist business, they are confronted with disgruntled, complaining, loud people constantly. We all could learn something from there "take it easy" style of life.”

“Make sure to look at the room before you pick it -- we had room 24, which was probably the best on the whole damn island as far as views go. Some of the rooms were blocked by trees, however.”

“Bungalows at beach are mainly for 4p..smaller ones higher up against the hill. Be very specific when you call them. You could end up in bungalow high on the hill, with many stairs. Prices can hardly be negotiated, You need to pay in advance, so make sure you have enough cash with you since there is nothing nearby. Email is unreliable and not an option to communicate.”
