The staff and volunteers were super friendly and helpful. The hostel is a bit far from town but it has its perks: it is very quiet and peaceful, and the views are amazing. Rent a scooter if you can, so you can move around easily, and you're set! They also offer a free shuttle service, which is really nice. The hostel offered a water refill station for a small donation, which is great if you carry your own reusable bottle. The only "bad" thing is that Pai gets REALLY cold at night, and we were freezing in the rooms. We were provided with one blanket per bed which wasn't enough to stay warm, despite the several layers of clothing. Not sure if it gets cold like that all year long or maybe we went during one of the coldest months (January), but be prepared and bring warm clothes with you for the night! Overall, I highly recommend staying at Deejai Pai Backpackers! We had a wonderful experience and would love to go back one day!

I stayed in the 12 bed mixed dorm, which was comfortable and extremely clean. The staff here are amazing as is the hostel. Just outside of town you manage to escape all the noise. The hostel offers a shuttle so it's easy to get into town. You can also hire scooters too. It's not a party hostel which suited me perfectly, it was extremely social and very easy to make new friends as a solo traveller. There are daily activities on offer including morning yoga classes. The classes were fantastic and cater for all abilities. I would 100% stay here again and highly recommend this place to any solo traveller looking for a social, comfy and clean place to stay whilst in Pai.

Jerks who blast euro trash techo music every night across peaceful farm land. Keep that noise in town. These entitled backpackers who ruin tranquility on the outskirts of town. When I say loud I mean its shaking my windows a mile away. They even play ads (free Spotify? Get a DJ) I wonder how the locals feel? Such a shame to ruin other peoples experience.

Dearest Nick, what a shame you got this impression about us, its not fair to judge from the outside, specially if you didnt even stay with us or assisted to the party. We had a party the 24th in celebration of Christmas and our anniversary, it is really not common for us throwing parties, since the athmosphere around is pretty chilled. The party started 2:30 pm and ended by 12 am because we wanted to be mindful of our neighbors and because thats the permit local police granted us. We indeed had a couple of DJs and a live performance from BKK, so the spotify add must have been someone else playing music because of Christmas... and i dont blame them, there were a couple of parties around town that night : ) I can tell by your reviews you really put some effort in leaving negative reviews. I invite you from the depth of my heart to have the full picture of the circumstances before leaving a review. We actually put so much effort in making deejai a safe and friendly space for our guests, you are welcome to try yourself anytime!. Sending blessings, Lorena

We stayed as a couple at Deejai Pai in October 2019. The hostel itself is stunning, and feels really in nature. Beds were comfortable and rooms fairly clean. The food from the hostel was also tasty. The hostel also offered a drop off/pick up service from town which was great. One more negative thing about our experience was the interactions with staff. Some of the staff were friendly but quite a few members were rude at times and maybe need to consider their sense of humour/interaction with a range of guests from different walks of life.

Dearest Ellie! Thank you so much for taking your time to leave this useful review. We appreciate and welcome feedback anytime. We are glad you liked the hostel itself for what is. We have a volunteer program where we carefully select the people who is going to become part of our familiy for 1 month, and we embrace them as they fully are, no matter the path they are walking. Im very sorry your interaction wasnt 100 % positive with this staff member. I guess we all have our ups and downs and maybe that day this person wasnt exactly in the best place to serve from the heart. I will make sure to raise this point in our next staff meeting. Wishing you a beautiful walk Home, and thank you again for your honest and kind feedback. Love and blessings on your way! -Lorena

Great hostel for solo travelers and backpackers. The location is beautiful and quiet, surrounded by nature and still close enough to the center. The stuff is kind and helpful and the breakfast is really good. For us the best thing about this place was the yoga classes every morning, the teachers are very professional and the area is outstanding, located on a balcony in front of the view!! We recommend you to check the place if you plan to visit Pai!

Amazing view over the rice fields, free yoga sessions, frequent activities. Staff is very helpful and friendly! Renting a scooter when staying here is necessary. The food at the hostel is good but I wouldn't recommend getting it. Multiple times I've had to wait for a long time just for them to tell me something isn't available, you're better of getting breakfast and food down the road.

We booked in for 2 nights and ended up staying 5. What a special place - free yoga, friendly staff (and DOGS :) and such gorgeous views onto rice paddies and mountains. We were offered a free night in Dee J Chiang Mai which was so kind as we stayed for 5 nights. Highly recommend this backpackers. Fun and relaxing at the same time.
