We stayed at Hotel Laguna during a business trip at Tanjong Pinang. The hotel is in a good location within walking distance to the ferry terminal, Bestari Mall, Tanjong Pinang Walk and lots of cheap food outlets around. Hotel staff are friendly and helpful. We stayed in both superior and deluxe rooms during different trips. The deluxe room is huge with a king bed & mini bar for a small upgrade fee. The bathrooms are not very clean and well-kept though. Breakfast is included but not fantastic with limited food options. The Laguna Spa is excellent, located on level 3 of the mall. Cost less than 10sgd for massage or facial! Masseurs and therapists are friendly and knowledgeable.

Very friendly staff at reception and the hotel restaurant. I stayed on two separate occasions and the roof top lounge was not open. The breakfast buffet was minimal, but staff were more than happy to fry up some eggs. The hotel is an easy walk to the ferry terminal.

Everything in the room we were given was dates but there was no musty smell, which was a pleasant surprise since lots of new hotels in the region smell musty even if they are new. Attached to a 'mall' and lots of places to eat nearby. 5 minute walk max from the ferry terminal.

I stayed 3 days and the service of the staff was really good. They helped me every time I asked for even opening the coffee place only for me to have dinner there and see the city from the top roof. Special thanks to the front desk person "Yani" that was always open to help on giving information and even solving a problem I had with the ferry ticket.

Modern hotel compared to others. near by food stalls and shopping centers. Expect power outage sometimes at evening/night, but it is normal for entire island. Near by ferry jetty, perfect for travel transit.

5 mins walk from the jetty. Look upwards for the large sign on the rooftop when leaving jetty area. Conveniently located in the commercial part of town, plenty of eating places around, local as well as KFC and Pizza Hut. Dried seafood shops and interesting morning wet market near Jalan Pasar Ikan. Wifi is good. Hotel is not new and rather tired looking but at this price, one cannot complain. Only one pillow. Breakfast consists of largely Asian cuisine and a small toaster with sliced bread. The spa Laguna is excellent! It situated in Bestari Mall which is connected to the hotel at Level 3.

I made reservation for two rooms through email and asked for non smoking rooms. They confirmed it but when we arrived around 4 pm, one room was not ready yet and they told me they don't have non smoking room. The rooms smell cigarette smoke so bad, a lot of mosquitoes, the towels smell bad, and the mattress is hard. We can't sleep almost all night because it was so noisy. The window was broken so can't be closed all the way. Our room faced the main street, and there were people standing in front of the hotel and they were so noisy. I guess the taxi drivers. The breakfast was so so, I understand this is not a 4 stars hotel but what scare me was the food (fried chicken) was cold. The water dispenser was moldy. We will never go back or recommend the hotel to our friends and family.

We stayed at 5th floor for 2 nights. Hotel foods ( ala carte ) is great! But do not expect much for breakfast. Hotel will provide free taxi for pickup and fetch you at jetty. And also you can hire hotel's taxi to go around. Shopping center is adjacent of the hotel at 3rd floor and you can enjoy massage there. Room is big enough. Wifi not so strong. Staffs are weak in English but helpful and friendly.
